This form summarises the appropriate behaviour expected of students with internet use and all
other digital devices (iPads, mobile phones, laptops). Net safety standards are also outlined.
Policy Statement
The use of internet and digital devices is solely for research and communication between
students and staff. Responsible use of these resources must follow these standards:
Students must abide by the conditions of acceptable usage
Devices must be used in a respectful and ethical manner
Students using internet and devices are responsible for reporting any inappropriate
behaviour by peers, as well as the access of inappropriate internet sites.
Students are responsible for their actions online
The aim of this form is to advise students and parents/caregivers of the expectations required
of them while using digital devices and the internet at Green College. Students who breach this
policy may be faced with disciplinary action, in line with the schools disciplinary policy.
The school retains the right to record web browsing activities and archive the emails of
students, the records of which are kept for two years. These are considered as official
documents and property of the school.
If a student breaches the policy or their use of online resources and digital devices harms
another student, the school may take or access personal devices. It is expected that students
will be fully compliant if such an occasion arises.
When using the internet and devices to communicate or publish content, students will:
Never publish or disclose the email address of staff or students without explicit
permission
Never reveal personal information such as names, addresses, photographs, credit card
details or telephone numbers
Never send/publish sexually explicit or suggestive material
Never send/publish false or defamatory information about a person or organisation

Parent Agreement
I/we have read through this policy and discussed it with my/our child. We agree to abide by
the expectations the school has put forward for the use of the internet, school and personal
devices both at and outside of school.
We are aware that a misuse of internet and these devices is a breach in policy, and will result
in disciplinary action by the school, in accordance with disciplinary policies. We understand
that we will be responsible for replacing or fixing any damaged devices.
Student Agreement
I have read through this policy and discussed it with my parent/guardian. I agree to be a safe
internet user and to always uphold these standards.
