Introduction (warmer activity + teacher active engagement)

I will greet the students and ask how they are, I will remind them of my name and tell the students,
Students we will be going over what we took yesterday, who can tell me what shape they

I will go over the shapes again with the students as I did in the previous day, I will have them
constantly repeat the names of the shapes to keep it in their memory, then we will discuss the
colours of those shapes. I will ask them to raise their hands if they can spot anything that is shaped
like a rectangle in the classroom, and so on with the shapes and colours. I will then show them a
few things that are big and some that are small, and I will ask them which is bigger; For example,
Hmm who can tell me what is BIGGERRR? The yellow circle or the BLUE circle? and so on to
remind them of the sizes.
Time: 15 min

After I feel that they have understood the concept I will introduce them to the activities that they

will be doing during centre time.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)

High: Students will count each shape in the picture, and write the amount next to the shapes.

Independent Experience (small group activity 2)

Medium: Students will colour each shape according to the label at the bottom; such as triangles
green, square is red and so on.

Independent Experience (small group activity 3)

Low: Students will colour the bigger (Star, circle, etc..) green and the smaller one red.
5 min I went briefly over what the students learned today, I had them repeat the shapes and colours a few
more times then asked them if the green triangle is bigger or smaller than the blue triangle, and
even used a few materials in the classroom to remind them. I thanked the students and had them

say thank you Miss Aisha and line up to go to the playground.

I will assess the students by asking them to show me where the green triangle is, or the yellow rectangle.
