A Fair

We walk in straight lines fenced by neon lights

Bright and soaring through the horizon
Like bubbles floating frantically above a bath.
Dazzling inline tracks that are always slinging some folks
somewhat yet much faster than a yoyo.

Some are laughing at drunks while drinking

Some are violating funnel cakes with forks,
Those diabetics choke on insulin and syrupy biscuits.
Those mothers warn kids of strangers
While others are suffocating in a sea of neighbors
And all-night teens wait to be stitched to machines.
Where they pay for a rite of passage
Thats just shaken baby syndrome for grownups.

Perjuries and proclamations a fragrant perfume

As each becomes the center of attention for
Barkers who radiate transcendent hues
Between men with bursting balloons
and bagged goldfish baiting us with:
Everyones a winner,
enchanting
Once in a lifetime,
Engaging
Worlds greatest corndog,
arousing.
So, high spectacle that we can forget,
Its all rigged.
