WMGS Family History Writers’ Workshops Sept 21, Oct 19, and Nov 16 at 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Dominican Center, 2025 Fulton St East
The writers’ workshops are designed to help and support each other’s desire to write about our families. Everyone is welcome. We informally discuss questions relevant to each person’s work, provide helpful, non-judgmental feedback on writers’ current projects and have fun learning about each other and our research. The group provides constructive feedback and everyone benefits. Our participants bring samples of their latest writing project to share with the group. In addition, we like to suggest different writing topics to give us fresh ideas and keep us writing about our families. If you’re stuck on your current project or in between projects, write a story on the topic of the month and share it with the group. The topic for the September workshop will be Favorite Family Foods. The topics for future workshops will be announced at http://wmgs.com. The workshops are held at the Dominican Center on the corner of East Fulton and Lakeside Drive. Please call Sister Michael Ellen Carling at (616) 643-0206 (home) or (616) 643-0225 (office) if you wish to attend. You may park in the Dominican Center parking lot on Lakeside Drive. Use the main entrance under the large portico and go up the steps. The receptionist will direct you to the room.

Thank You to the Dining with the Dead Volunteers
To the hearty volunteers who braved another of Michigan's hottest days of summer- July 17th. I knew when I chose a date it would either be very hot or very wet. And hot it was! But, there was an occasional breeze and the lucky ones who got to be under the trees were cooled off. Over 1200 graves were recorded and soon the volunteers will enter their records into our database. A delicious potluck lunch was enjoyed by all in the shade of the cemetery chapel. Much thanks to the following volunteers: Jane & Don Barsema, Mindy & Don Bryant, Bobbe & Roger Horton, Jeri & Alan Landleer, Lisa Christensen & Roger Moffat, Dorothy & Russ Prince, Sue & Jim Swanlund, Sue Bogard, Marlene Fabbro, Mike Finley, Sue Irvine & Gary, Jay Neehan, Vickie Parker, Sue Rabick, Bill Simmons, Darlene Snyder, Marcia Spears, Ruth Waybrand and Judy Wilson
