Part 3- Next Steps/Action Plan

1. What questions do you still have about the colleges you are considering? I feel like I
need to see both college campuses in order to make a certain decision. I need to see
what traffic looks like and how students interact. Also, the weather is very important to
me because Im a naturally cold person so when I looked up the weather in Boone, I was
immediately pushed away from there. I feel like it would be beneficial to take online
campus map tours. I still wonder if students that go to the schools have an easy time
getting jobs based on the diversity of their school based on my degree because thinking
logistically, I wouldnt be hired for a job in a minority school because I learned from a
majority school so my techniques changed. I also wonder if an employer would hired an
NC State alum over App State alum or vice versa. I would also like student descriptions
of why they chose the school that they did and if their expectations are reality or what
was falsely advertised. I would also like to see off campus housing options and the cost
of those verses on campus. I also have questions about the requirements of the Honors
College in each college and is it available to transfer students.
2. Based on everything you have learned about college culture and admissions, what are
two steps you can take within the next 3-6 months to ensure your transfer admissions
plan will be successful? Within the next 3-6 months, I can take my SAT and ACT twice in
order to ensure that I get the score that I want. I can also take an essay writing class to
perfect my college admissions essays. I can also start asking teachers for
recommendations for College Applications. I can also get all As in my high school and
college classes to improve my GPA.
