4 - What were the strengths of the instructor?

• Professor Coleman was very knowledgeable about the history and philosophy behind the creation of museums. I was very happy with how quickly she responded to my questions on the course
through email as well.
• Very passionate and knowledgeable about the material, and very encouraging.
• Very knowledgeable about the course material, engaging and overall provided great resources when we had questions or insights. Her passion for the field was evident and very much appreciated.
• The instructor made herself available to students and was very helpful in clarifying any questions I had about the course. The instructor also created calendar deadlines for each lesson so I knew
exactly what was expected of me and when it was due.
• Professor Coleman is very kind and a good communicator. She was responsive to questions and was knowledgable about the subject.

5 - What were the weaknesses of the instructor?

• The syllabus needs to be edited slightly. At the start of the semester, I lost half a point because Professor Coleman said I needed to use three sources in a discussion board post. That was not clearly
stated in her syllabus at all. It is no major issue but it was a bit upsetting.
• Was occasionally delayed in offering discussion or assignment feedback
• I didn't find weaknesses with the instructor. I thought Prof. Coleman was very helpful, engaging, and provided feedback on many of our written assignments and discussion almost immediately. I
found her feedback to be extremely useful and very much enjoyed working with her.
• None.
• Unsure. I would have liked to see more through information in the syllabus.

6 - What were the content and design strengths of the course?

• It was nice starting at the beginning of when museum came to be in this world. I liked how we started in Europe and then studied others continents and how museums came to be in those locations.
• A good overview of the various global, historical and philosophical trends in the discipline.
• While I was apprehensive about the Tiki Toki entries at first, I learned a great deal about the history of museums through both my and my classmates entries.

7 - What were the content and design weaknesses of the course?

• Syllabus like I mentioned above.
• The various platforms and locations for posting material was redundant (particularly class blogs), and the many due dates for stages of the work made keeping track of deadlines a little challenging.
• The confusion I experienced was mostly around aspects of the Blackboard tool. For example, for our timeline entries, it was confusing to use the Blog portion of the tool and the Discussion portion of
the tool. I would recommend for the next course to not use the Blog portion of Blackboard and it seemed to take away from the discussion aspects of the assignment.
• None.
• I thought the syllabus was the only real weakness of the course. I would have liked more information outlining the Tiki Toki project in the syllabus, and the course expectations outlined in the syllabus
were not quite the same as those established in the class.

8 - How does this course compare to other courses?

• Need to think outside the box, and pay attention to the slightest details.
• There was quite a bit of reading material to cover, but it was rewarding in the end.
• I found the course strenuous but I much preferred turning in regular essay assignments versus turning in longer essays are either 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 through the class. I felt the regularly timed papers kept
me more engaged.
• This was my first semester in the course so I can't really compare it to anything.
• Well. I thought the structure of the Tiki Toki research assignments was a really good way to go through the content.

9 - Evaluation of your own work in this course:

• I thought I did an excellent job. Started a bit rocky but I am ending with an A in the course.
• I worked hard to fully engage and cover the course material, making sure to participate in class discussions and offer or consider peer feedback.
• I was fully engaged in the course and absorbed the materials. I definitely enjoyed this course and was very happy I enrolled.
• I think I did well considering the fact that this was my first semester in the program.
• I think I did well overall. There were a couple of assignments that I was pressed for time while working on and wish I had done a better job with, but overall I think I did pretty well.

10 - What other courses would you like to see offered?

• More Digital programs for those of us trying to obtain our digital curation certification.
• More non-western courses (this class was a pleasant exception to the general JHU offerings)
• Potentially more museum administration courses would be helpful.
• None at this time.
• Unsure. Maybe a class that goes more into museology museum theories?

11 - Other comments. Feel free to comment on your response to any previous question. Please be specific.

• Overall a very informative class, with good discussions and collaboration and I professor I would seek out again.
• The instructor was knowledge and the content enhanced my learning. The courses I took this semester reinforced my thoughts that I made the correct decision to attend Johns Hopkins University.
