Easy Ukulele Chords
These are some of the easiest to play and most common chords for playing songs on your
cigar box ukulele or other uke-related instrument, tuned to the standard gCEA tuning.

How to Use These Chord Forms

The vertical lines represent the four strings of the ukulele, g C E A from
left to right. The horizontal lines represent the frets. For all of these
chords, the top horizontal line represents the nut.

An open circle at the top of a string means that string should be left
open and strummed along with the rest of the strings. An X at the top
of the string (like on the E chord) means that string should be muted/
not strummed.

Some chords (B, Bm, D, D7, E) require partial barring - using one
finger to hold down multiple strings. Usually this is done with the index
finger, and less often the third (ring) finger.
