Students Baseline Knowledge and Skills (Pre-Assessment)


I want the students vocabulary in nutrition to expand. In order to gauge how much they know about fruits
and vegetables, I will ask them questions about a few examples of different fruits and vegetables and see if
theyre able to identify them by the given pictures and descriptions. Based on the preschoolers response, I
will then be able to continue with the opening discussion.

Lesson Procedures

Opening

After an introduction to new foods, the instructor will explain that there are many foods that can be eaten that
will help the body stay healthy and strong. Then, expand into the explanation that five different types of foods
must be eaten for a healthy body MyPlate. The preschoolers will be able to briefly categorize the examples
into the correct food group with the guidance of the instructor.

Middle

Instructional Delivery Instructional Differentiation

The instructor will read Eating the Alphabet which illustrates a variety of Multiple Intelligence
fruits and vegetables while strengthening vocabulary. The instructor will Visual
discuss and ask questions about what was read from the literature and Auditory
answer questions about the appearance of the given food examples. Kinesthetic
Pictures from the book will help the preschoolers with the identification of Intrapersonal: identifying
the newly introduced foods. The instructor will go around the room to call new food examples
on each student to give them a chance to identify the food examples. through bingo

Closure

After identifying newly introduced foods, the preschoolers will engage in a Food Bingo game so that they
may solidify their understanding of new foods based on appearance. The preschoolers will be able to gain a
curiosity of what these items taste or feel like. All in all, the preschoolers will understand that eating new
foods that are different can be exciting and will help them feel strong and energetic while expanding his/her
vocabulary.
