There will be high school elections in the first week as the were not completed at the end of last year
Much of the population is religious (LDS)
<2500 people (i.e. small town)
School is currently undergoing a major modernization project, therefore the school will likely be under construction during the semester
Course Learning Activities
Mind Maps- At the end of each unit, students will hand in a mind map or graphic organizer of sorts summarizing the information explored in the previous
chapters. Students can use this to prepare for the unit and final exam. Students will be given sample organizers, but are free to choose one that works for them.
Weekly CNN10 Responses- Every day, students will watch a CNN10 segment. On the Monday of each week, students are expected to hand in a brief
paragraph response (3-5 sentences) on how an event they saw in a clip relates back to their understanding of nationalism.
