Lesson idea implementation:

To introduce the lesson, Teacher will ask the students to raise their hands and see if they can find
words that start with the letter B. The students will walk around the class to see if they can find
items in the classroom that either represent the letter B or start with the letter B. The teacher
will display the Letter B Video and the students will get a better understanding of the letter and
get the correct pronunciation. The students will then break up into groups, read, and go over
the printed copies of the PowerPoint slides. The entire lesson should take about 30minutes.
The students will be assessed when the teacher brings the class back together.
The Teacher will display a picture on the board and the students must call out if it starts with a B or
not. Students will then be asked; how do they know it doesnt start with a B? For students to
practice at home, Teacher will post the PowerPoint slide and the video in the classroom website.
This can help to differentiate instructions for the diverse types of learners. To extend learning to a
higher learning level, the teacher will assign a project using PowerPoint. Students are asked to select
5-8 images online that start with the letter B. Then, create a small PowerPoint using those
pictures. Since they are still young they will record their voice saying the name of each picture. An
example would be Ball, ball starts with the letter b. The Teacher will share the PowerPoints to the
classroom page, so parents and administrators can see the students work. As an extended
assignment, the students can look around their homes and communities and more items that
represent the letter B. The students can learn through creation of their own product, collaboration
with peers, and activities outside of the classroom.
