Focus on classroom management

1. Explain some effective classroom management practices your CT uses.

a. She switches seating charts every 2 weeks that they are in class. Which is fantastic when it

comes to letting them switch up the people that they sit next to. She also tries to not allow

students who she knows talk too much away from each other.

2. Does your CT get to develop his/her own expectations and consequences or are they school-wide

policies?

a. She gets to develop her own expectations and consequences when it comes to classroom

management.

3. What routines does your CT use to manage negative behaviors?

a. She separates them from the rest of the class and they have to sit by themselves. If they cant

handle a chair with wheels she makes them switch. If the talking is incessant and every day

she switches where they sit. I have never seen her give detention, send someone out to hall

or keep them after class due to bad behavior.

4. What rewards or routines does your CT use to reinforce positive behaviors?

a. She sometimes bring candy to the class as incentive, though not very often. She praises their

good behavior when she notices them working hard.

5. Explain some of the procedures and routines that your CT has established to make the class run

smoothly.
a. One but thing that she does is that computers are always closed unless they are using them

in class the same with phones, I have never seen students using phones in class except when

they used them for Kahoot or other such quiz sites. There was not really much by way of

routine that she did the same every single day.

6. How does your CT motivate students to work hard?

a. She gives them class time to do things, she does not want them to feel overwhelmed at home

trying to finish Spanish homework that they may not completely understand so she

encourages them to do it in class with her so that she can clear up some of the

misunderstandings and make them more productive and more proactive.

7. If this were your classroom are there classroom management policies, procedures, routines, etc., that

you would change to fit your teacher persona and needs?

a. I would make it more routine, start off with objectives and move on to the hook and then

have some transition phrases that I say so that they know that we are moving on. I also love

the saying dame cinco as a way to get everyones attention and so that they know that they

need to be quiet and that their attention needs to be on me.
