Building regulations play a massive role in determining how a room is designed. They govern things like room sizes, door widths, room layouts and cabinet positions. In groups, you are tasked with designing and modelling a given room according to accessibility building regulations (Technical Guidance Document M). Your designs must incorporate all of the features associated with the given room and rationale must be provided for why you designed the room the way you have. You will first figure out dimensions that adhere to regulations and sketch your proposed design plan (using drawing equipment). The second step will be the implementation of your design into the Homestyler software. Finally, in your groups, you will create an informative PowerPoint presentation about your designs AND the regulations associated with your assigned room Each presentation should be 5-8 minutes long and should inform the class about the various regulations relating to your project as well as your chosen designs. EVERY group member must speak during the presentations. Presentations will take place during the final week of school before Christmas and will be graded.
