INSTRUCTION TO TENDERER
This part served to inform the tenderer of the rules and procedures that

Surveyor shall be allowed. Any unauthorized
alteration or erasure made may render the Tender
invalid.
The completed tender documents shall be submitted
in a sealed envelope bearing no indications of identify

CONDITION OF TENDERING

Tender Deposit
Prior collection of tender document, Tenderer shall be
required to pay a sum for tender deposit in cash to
employer, the deposit is non refundable to all tenderer
Tender Bond
Tender Bond must be submitted together with the Tender.
The Tender bond shall be made in the form of a Bankers
Draft or an unconditional Bankers Guarantee
FINAL SUMMARY OF TENDER

Collection of all the priced bills for all sections


of the project for the tenderer to insert his
sectional summary to arrive at a total amount
which sums up tender amount
PRELIMINARY

The purpose of preliminaries is to describe


the works as a whole, and to specify
general conditions and requirements for
their execution, including such things as
subcontracting, approvals, testing and
completion.

Preamble
A preamble is an explanation of a document.
It gives client the summary of the work
requested.

The preamble is divided into sections that


explain the project, materials needed, unit
prices, methods of measurement and
potential errors.

EXAMPLE OF PREAMBLE
Specification
Specifications describe the specific
materials and workmanship required for a
development.

They do not include cost, quantity or drawn


information. Therefore, client needs to read
alongside other information such as
quantities, schedules and drawings.

It includes the details of quality and


performance of materials, workmanship
standard and the testing for materials and
workmanship.

Prime Cost and
Provisional Sum
A prime cost item is the items that cover
specialist works and the supply of specific
materials which entail the employment of
nominated subcontractor or nominated
supplier.

A provisional sum is an allowance in the


contract for the cost of foreseeable necessary
work, including the supply of materials not fully
described or detailed at the time that the
contract commenced.
