 Which version do you like better?

 In my opinion proposal ‘B’ is better than the proposal ‘A’, because it is more
inclusive of the descriptive theory, facts and it has better visual understanding
for the reader.

 Why? Justify by comparing each proposal section, listing in bullet points

 Problem Statement:
 Proposal A is not well structured and doesn’t give detailed
information about the technologies. There is dearth of
examples making easy understanding of the topic difficult for
the readers. In contrast, Proposal B is comprehensive giving
more examples from past studies of CII.
 Objective:
 The objective in proposal A is not well structured. Whereas in the
proposal B, the bullet point makes the objective attractive and
terse.
 Current Practice:
 In proposal B current practice in identifying and locating materials
in laydown yards has made the idea clear with appropriate
description whereas in proposal A, it is long and tedious to read.
 Available Technologies:
 In proposal B, each technology is explained very clearly in
different paragraphs, which makes it informative and clear about
what are they about and how they differ. Whereas in proposal A,
every technology is mentioned in one line and the description is
missing.
 Proposed Approach/ Methodology:
 In proposal B, the flow chart is more descriptive. Proposal A
should have more lucid flow charts for better understanding.
 Work Plan :
 The work plan is well described in proposal B than in proposal B.
More description should be provide in proposal A

 Lessons learned from this exercise and “What makes a logic & well-thought out written
proposal?”

 This exercise gives informative knowledge about writing the

proposal and tells that equal weightage should be given to
both visual and theoretical description. Also, the importance
of the examples.
