• Aandholika
Aandholika is a Talent Hunt for the most versatile singer among the participants. The event has
singers rendering a good mix of songs from various eras with live orchestration by the Music Club.
Rules:
Eliminations:
>> This stage will consist of 2 rounds
>> The contestant will perform a Hindi film song of his/her choice in the first round.
>> The second round will be based on ‘change of scale’.
>> No accompanists allowed.
>> 3 male and 3 female contestants will be short listed for the finals.
>> Judging will be based on:
* Quality of voice
* Choice of song
* Sense of scale
* Quality of rendition
* Improvisation
Finals:
>> All songs in this stage must be from the song bank. The song bank will be made available to
the finalists after the elimination round.
>> Live orchestration will be provided for the final round.
>> The details regarding the final rounds will also be provided after the elimination round.
Note:
Participants are requested to carry a CD player as it will be required for the various rounds in the
finals. Previous years’ winners are not permitted to take part in the competition.
• Axetacy
A solo guitar competition.
Rules:
• Fusion
Fusion, as the name suggests, is a harmony of Indian and Western styles of music.

Instrumentalists will not be provided.
• Swaranjali
Carnatic and Hindustani - Vocal and Instrumental.

>> Two entries per college.
>> Individual participation.
>> Time duration: 5 minutes (minimum), 10 minutes (maximum)
>> Participants are expected to bring their own accompaniments.
>> Participants will be judged based on performances in two categories:
*String and wind instruments
*Percussion

• Oasis Unlplugged
Competitive event targeted at semi-professional musicians. Participants will play acoustic versions
of English songs.

>> No restriction on the number of entries from each college.
>> One keyboard (piano mode) will be provided.
>> Participants have to bring their own guitars.
Rules:
>> Only one entry per college. This number may be increased on the spot, but it will be solely on
the discretion of the Coordinator, DoT.
>> Each team should have 4 participants.
>> Teams can act in Hindi or English.
>> Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
>> All participants should be on stage for the whole event. No entries or exits are allowed.
>> Total time on stage for each team is 10 minutes.
>> At least three situations will be given to each team to enact.
>> Only the first situation will be revealed to the team in advance. Two minutes will be given to
prepare for the first situation while the switch to the other situation has to be spontaneous.
>> The situations to be enacted will be given by the judges to the teams and they will also indicate
the moment a switch has to be made. The decision of the judges is final and binding.
>> No props, indicative costumes, music or make up are allowed. Violation will result in negative
points.
>> Negative marking for vulgarity and it may lead to disqualification as well.
>> Points will be awarded for creativity, humour and spontaneity.
>> Teams should report 15 minutes before the event begins.
• Fash P
Just when you thought you saw it all….Rising up from the sands of the desert.......Angels descend
upon us with such grandeur and allure, that it leaves all those witness to the extravaganza,
breathless. To the crowds delight, they sway on the ramp, enlivening it with their graceful walk.
Clad in their ingeniously fashioned attires of velvet and silk with beauty that mere mortals can
only dream of. Just when you thought you saw it all... Fash-p.
Rules:
>> Only one entry per college.
>> Maximum of 12 participants on stage. However, all participants may not be on stage at one
time.
>> The eliminations will be conducted in two phases:-
1.The teams have to upload their videos and profiles on http://oasis.ibibo.com, pertaining to the
rules put up on the same link.
2.The shortlisted teams after the first round will have an on-campus elimination round during
OASIS.
>> Teams need to submit a copy of the write-ups of different rounds at the time of eliminations.
>> Time limit of 15 minutes (curtain to curtain). All teams have to present their introduction for
which extra 5 minutes will be given. Points will be deducted for exceeding the time limit.
>> Participants can follow any theme of their choice. One round on the Oasis theme is
compulsory.
>> On-stage practice slots will be provided for the short listed teams. Teams are expected to use
them for stage familiarization, finalizing light cues, etc.
>> Emphasis will be given to clothing, portrayal and originality.
>> Backstage helpers should not exceed 8. Two team members must be present to provide cues for
music and lights.
>> Lighting of candles, matches or cigarettes on stage is not allowed and will result in
disqualification.
>> A T-shaped extension will be provided to the auditorium stage. Both the stage and the
extension may be used as the walking ramp.
>> Teams are requested to confirm their participation in advance by emailing to kaushik[AT]bits-

>> Teams must report to the DoT room immediately after registration at the Controlz booth.
>> Teams must bring 2 CDs containing their sound track. One CD is to be submitted at the time of
eliminations.
• Flipside Spoofs
Diversity in perspective renders any object, however trivial, priceless. Such diversity is brought to
the foreground by thematic spoofs. The participants are required to present an alternative objective
view of conventional cinema. Going beyond the horizon and conventionalities, we bring to you the
“Flipside” of the world, set to make even the humourless laugh, recreating movies and revisiting
events in satirical ways with sarcastic quirks and humorous wise cracks.

• Metamorphosis
Seeking to give vent to your inner directorial impulses? This Oasis, look no furtherthan
Metamorphosis. We exhort all you film buffs out there to transform a poignant idea or concept into
a 4 minute amalgam of theme, mood and reel. The cinematic challenge is set.
Round 1:
Round 2:
>> A theme will be announced along with the shortlisted entries on 10th October09.
>> The entrants will have to make a short film based on the specified theme.
>> The teams will have to present their short film before the judges at Oasis '09.
>> A question and answer session will follow the presentation session. The teams will have to
answer questions put forth by the judges.
>> Deliverables in this round comprise :
1. The short film.
2. A synopsis (about 200 words) of the short film.
3. A detailed storyboard.
>> The teams will have to submit two copies of the deliverables to the organizers (Dept. Of
CCTV, BITS-Pilani) before the presentation session.
>> Each copy of the short film must be burnt onto a CD/DVD.
>> Hard copies (two each) of the storyboard and the synopsis must be submitted.

• Mime
Humans have been blessed with the ability to express and comprehend feelings through silent
actions. MIME is an art form that calls for the honing of this ante natal ability. Participants are
required to portray a play, pertaining to a theme, through actions. Diversity of thought is
encouraged in this event, as the participants are expected to improvise and present their acts under
an ingenious light.
Rules:
>> Teams should give in their entries to the Coordinator, DoT.
>> There is no elimination round. Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
>> Maximum number of participants per entry is 6 on stage and 2 off stage.
>> Time limit: 9 minutes. Negative points for exceeding the time limit.
>> No recorded music, recorded sounds, musical instruments, recognizable words, indicative
makeup, indicative costumes or props are allowed. For clarification, please contact the
Coordinator, DoT. Violation will result in negative points.
>> Mikes will be provided to the off stage members of the team. Any sound produced must not be
recognizable as words.
>> Points will be deducted for vulgarity.
>> A short synopsis may be read out before the performance which will not be included in the
write up.
• Stage Plays
THESPO and OASIS presents Stageplays.
All the thespians out there-get ready to spread your wings and soar higher. The most basic form of
expression in the most elegant form provides a platform for all budding actors and directors. The
exquisite professional touch, ingeniously written and studied scripts, breathtaking acting and
superb direction make stage play one of the most popular events. So watch out for
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION…..
Rules:
>> Stage plays during OASIS 09 are to be judged by members from the Thespo 11 screening
panel.
>> The teams will also be screened for Thespo 11.
>> The screening panel’s decision to include a play at Thespo will depend solely on the quality of
the play. Thus, the number of teams that may get selected is not fixed.
>> The plays making it to Thespo will be announce on November 1 ,by the Thespo 11 screening
panel, after the judges have evaluated all the plays that have undergone the screening process.
>> One entry per college.
>> The play may be multi-lingual.
>> Maximum of six teams will be selected for the finals. First stage of eliminations will be based
on play scripts.
>> All members putting up the play (with the exception of the playwright) be under the age of 25.
>> All play scripts must reach the Coordinator, DoT, by 2nd October for short listing of finalists.

>> A list containing all props to be used during the play should be sent along with the script.
>> Teams whose scripts are not received by the specified time will not be considered.

>> The script sent should be an exact replica of the play, as it will be performed. It should be
exactly followed during the performance. Any deviations without prior approval of DoT
Coordinator will result in disqualification.
>> Short listed teams will be informed through email by 9th October. For this purpose, teams are
requested to mention email addresses when they send their scripts. The list of short listed teams
will also be put up on the Oasis website.
>> Time limit: Minimum – 60 minutes; Maximum – 75 minutess (empty stage to empty stage).
>> For teams to be eligible for Thespo 11 screening, they should have an “on-stage performance”
of minimum 60 minutes.
>> Not adhering to the time limit will result in negative points.
>> Approximate duration of the play should be specified when the script is sent.
>> Backstage helpers should not exceed 6. Two team members must be present to provide cues for
music and lights.
>> Points will be deducted for vulgarity. Thespo insists on scripts avoiding abusive language.
>> Lighting of candles, matches or cigarettes on stage is not allowed and will result in
disqualification.
>> Mikes, lights will be provided.
>> Props may be provided but are subject to availability. The teams are requested to send a list of
props required along with the script. Teams will be intimated about the availability of the same.
(For definition of “prop” please refer to the note given below).
>> Rehearsal slots will be provided for quick stage familiarization
Note:
Definition of “prop”: An item that is not a part of clothing is a prop. Also, an item of clothing will
be considered a prop if it is moved from its initial position during the performance.
• Street Play
Oasis brings to you , right from the streets, an energetic and pulsating exhibition of skills in drama,
humor and ideology to sway the minds and behavior of the masses, Street Play aka Nukkad Natak
is a social endeavor carried out to convey a message and attract maximum crowd with the help of
shouts, chants, drums and dramatics.

It will be a quiz related to Indian culture, tradition, history, sports, movies, current affairs that
seeks to test the India Quotient within the participants.

>> A written prelims round will be on the day of finals (open to all) out of which 4 teams will be
selected for the finals.
>> Finals will be on- stage event comprising of traditional rounds of quizzing like Infinite Bounce,
Connects, Rapid Fires, Jackpots, Audio Visual et al, the details of which will be finalized shortly.
>> Students may turn up for the event, in groups of maximum 3.
• Entertainment Quiz
This quizzing event is all about your knowledge of Music, TV sitcoms, movies, sports and
everything related to them. This event is especially dedicated to all the enthusiastic buffs who like
to get entertained and follow their stuff with seriousness. The objective of the game is to be the one
with maximum points in the end just like a normal quiz show.
• Movie Quiz
It will be an audio visual quiz. Based on movies in Hollywood and critically acclaimed Indian
Movies (all regional films also included) .
• Oasis Quiz
The charmer among quizzes, OQ as its popularly termed is a thorough crowd puller giving
quizzers a pleasant nudge to their brain cells while entertaining the audience and keeping the spirit
of oasis rolling. An exhilarating atmosphere dashed with a touch of trivia suits one just fine.

• Sound Out
There will be a set of mostly objective questions that the teams have to answer. The questions will
be based upon different aspects of poetry, famous poets and their poems.
Test your poetry quotient, a quiz that will excite you to new levels.

>> Participants are required to report in teams of not more than three.
>> The quizmaster reserves all rights to make decisions.

>> All NSA Tournament Scrabble Rules apply including loss of turn penalty for incorrect
challenges.Winner\Qualifier to be decided by spread in case of a tie. Reduced time limit of 6
minutes per player.
>> Dictionary to be followed: SOWPODS and COLLINS OFFICIAL SCRABBLE
DICTIONARY(computer versions of both).
>> Time Frame: A game is expected to last 15 minutes. On 10 boards 40 participants play head-to-
head in two batches(time=90 min). Subsequent round played in similar fashion till we’re down to
two finalists(time=45min).Final will be a full-length scrabble game.(time=50min). Total time=3
hrs. Approx.
• Triathlon
A Triathlon is an intense endurance competition, typically, in its longest form, consisting of a 2.4-
mile ocean swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride, and a 26.2-mile marathon run, the winner being the one
to finish all three events in the least time.
The Matrix Triathlon is a similar event, testing your intelligence, creativity, intuition, fortitude,
persistence and most importantly, your ability to work as a team. Whether it is running around in a
quest to crack the code, matching wits and speed at responding to the some innovative queries or
just going flat out in a battle to conquer the world, the Triathlon is sure to rock you to the core!!

Think you can play with the English language? This event is sure to make you eat your words with
a handful of crosswords, trixies and anagrams taking you to your wits’ end. Crack’em and be
crowned the king of words.

• Desert duel
Desert duel is an event to bring out individual brilliance among participants and test their mettle in
dance.
SOLO BLAST:
An event to show their individual brilliance in any dance form.
Eliminations:
NOTE: Props using fire are strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
Stage1:
>> The participants will be divided into groups ( ex: of 3 or 4 participants per group)
>> Group-wise , every group will start dancing with its given participants together on stage at a
time , for the same song ( ex: 3 or 4 participants at a time )
>> Of that set of people , some of them will be selected for the STAGE 2 in this round
>> Then similarly the other groups will also dance and the best of those will be moving to stage 2.
Stage2:
>> The people who have entered into stage 2 will also be grouped now into groups of three or four
and the same process continues till we finally have one last person standing
>> The last person standing will have the maximum number of points and the others will be
marked relatively.
>> The later he/she gets eliminated the more number of points he/ she will get.

Round 2: Footloose
(On the Spot Adaptation)
>> The music will keep changing, you will have to adapt to the beat.
>> Organizers will provide music on the spot.
>> There will have to be at least 3 dancers on stage at all times.
>> Time limit: Max: 3 min, Min: 1 min (Left to the discretion of the organizers)
>> Weightage will be given for adaptation to change of music and pace of beat, coordination and
choreography.
>> No props allowed.
• Street Dance
The thump, the heat, the adrenaline pumping in your veins...Come experience it all and set the
stage ablaze...Set the tempo with your energetic moves and get the crowd to groove along.. .Its hip,
its hop, its hip-hop
We’ll have a blast...and you’re invited.
Rules:
• Tandav
Tandav is open to the following styles of dance:
Oddisi, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Bharathanatyam, Manipuri, Kathakali and Mohiniaatam.
Rules:
>> Participants are expected to perform in full costume, which should be brought by them.
>> Participants should not switch styles in between rounds.
>> This is a solo event comprising of the following rounds
1. Laya – A recital in the respective style for a maximum of 7 minutes. Participants should bring
their own tape/CD.
2. Rasa – Depiction of a given situation for 3 minutes.
3. Tala – Performing to a 30 second percussion sequence which shall be made known few minutes
before the round.
But BLAB seeks to reinvent itself, with even greater emphasis on the contestants' wit, sense of
humour and presence of mind. One of the major events in the OASIS schedule, we aspire to make
BLAB a national platform for the next generation of stage entertainers.
Given below is a short description of the event. Please note that this structure is not final, and can
be changed as per the preferences of the moderator and the organizers.
Rules:
>> The first preliminary round will consist of a verbal interview, open for all BITSians and
outstation participants. This stage happens a day before the on-stage finals. The JAM moderator
will screen the participants, and based on the originality of their responses, 24 people will be
selected for the next round.
>> The 24 participants will be randomly grouped for JAM (Just a Minute.)The moderator will
announce the number of rounds, scoring format, rules and theme of the JAM rounds during the
event and he will be the final arbiter in all decisions.
>> The cumulative score will be taken of each participant and the top-scoring six will go through
to the finals.
>> The Finals begin with a few rounds of JAM, through which 6 of the 12 finalists move on to the
next round. Subsequent rounds will present a greater challenge to the spontaneity and imagination
of he speakers, and will be used to decide on the winner. The format will be jointly decided by the
moderator and the organizers and will be explained at the time of the finals. “Shipwreck” and
“Whose line is it anyway?” are examples of formats tried in previous years.
>> The final interpretation of the rules of the event lies with the organizers and the moderator.
• Bluffmaster
Unique combination of pretence and intelligence.
The name of the event really speaks for itself. Six contestants will fight to eliminate the
bluffmaster and hence take the booty home!!
The bluffmaster is the one who knows the answers of all the questions. All contestants will be
voting after each round to eliminate the bluffmaster. So the bluffmaster has to pretence otherwise
or he will perish.
Note: The details and the rules, though fairly known, will be disclosed on the spot.
• Counter Strike
Show us how NOT to be a journalist. Participants will be given a set of events on a particular day,
of which they may choose to cover one, as guest journalists for OEP. The catch? The article needs
to show the event in an entirely new light.
Rules:
• Group discussion
The group discussion will have a multi tier format. Selected speakers from each round will proceed
to the next.
Rules:
>> Each discussion will comprise 6 – 9 participants.
>> The discussion will last for 12 – 18 minutes, at the discretion of the moderator.
>> Topics will be given on the spot. Participants will be given a preparation time of 2 – 5 minutes.
>> No bar on the number of participants per institution.
• Improvise
The group discussion will have a multi tier format. Selected speakers from each round will proceed
to the next.
Rules:
>> Each discussion will comprise 6 – 9 participants.
>> The discussion will last for 12 – 18 minutes, at the discretion of the moderator.
>> Topics will be given on the spot. Participants will be given a preparation time of 2 – 5 minutes.
>> No bar on the number of participants per institution.
Rules:
>> There will be one elimination round in which the basic reporting skills of the participants will
be tested. Then a limited number of teams will be selected.
>> The final will have four rounds of events, which will test the analytical skills, wit, judgement
and perspective of the participating teams
>> Team Limit: Max 2 members.
• Kshanika
Just step forward to prove that you are extremely creative and have good oratorical skills
Rules:
>> In the first round, each contestant will be given a topic on which he will get 10 seconds to
think. The participant is supposed to speak as soon as the time ends. The time limit for any topic is
1 minute. At the time of objection, the clock will be stopped.
>> Other contestants can make objections on the following points in his delivered words –
* Hesitation, Stammering, Laughter while speaking or change of pace
* Abrupt stop while speaking, pausing frequently
* Repeating one’s or others’ views or thoughts
* Commenting unnecessarily on the topic itself.
* Dramatizing content
* Unclear Speech, inappropriate pronunciation
* Grammatical errors
* Deviating from the topic
* Wasting time, using nonsensical words
* Starting before or after a signal from the Sanchalak
>> Decisions will be taken as per Sanchalak’s discretion.
>> The other rounds will include rounds like MAD AD where participants will have to show
creativity as well as oratorical skills in making a radio ad provided the product.
>> In case of any dispute, the decision of Sanchalak will be final and binding.
The rounds will start off by filling a form, around a month in advance. The form will be made
available online for outstation participants. We are searching for personalities who are well
cultivated and also who impress the masses.
This event is going to be similar to a reality show and will take its own special path this OASIS.
This event will have special relevance to the OASIS 2009 theme FLIPSIDE. So get ready to
DISCOVER YOUR FLIPSIDE.
• Mock Parliament
Live your desire to personify/imitate the fountainheads of Indian politics in this fiery event.

• Scrabble
Sesquioxidizing, benzoxycamphors, quartzy, aa, nu, ox, us. If these words knock any bells in your
head, you know what we are talking about. Even if you don't and have no clue what scrabble is all
about, you can do magic by just teasing your brain to its limits. Presenting every linguist's dream,
Scrabble.
• Spotlight
A monologue delivery competition
Rules:
>> Maximum no of participants per college 3; with the maximum of 20 in the whole event.
However this may be increased on the spot at the discretion of the Coordinator EDC.
>> Each participant will be given a time slot of 5 min exceeding which will lead to negative
marking. Minimum time on stage is 2 min.
>> Marks will be deducted for vulgarity.
>> Monologue could be self written or adapted (from a movie or some play).
Judging Criteria:
>> Participants will be judged on the basis of delivery, stage presence, stage utilization,
expressions, voice modulation, enunciation and the monologue chosen.
• Suicide at Midnight
Looking for a valve to release all that pent-up morbidity? We give you a legitimate platform to do
so! Compose the most innovative, the most elaborate or simply the most dark suicide note... and
walk away with the prize.
• Theatre of Wars
Inspired by the Green Car Conference happening between the Automotive Companies all round
the world this event starts off with a surprising situation and ends with a debate between the final 5
teams.

Adding an unprecedented dimension to the religion called Oasis, Symposiarch, BITS-Pilani
presents to you, the Parliamentary Debate.
Rules:
A. Teams:
1. Prime Minister (PM) - opens the debate, defines the motion and advances arguments;
2. Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) - refute at first instance the case of the opposition, re-establish
the government's claim, and advances arguments;
3. Government Whip (GW) - makes an issue-based rebuttal of the opposition's case and
summarizes the case of the government.
1. Leader of the Opposition (LO) - responds directly to the case of the government by giving a
direct clash, and advances arguments. May challenge the motion if the definition is challengeable;
2. Deputy Leader of the Opposition (DPL) - refutes the case of the DPM, reestablishes the case of
the opposition, and advances an argument;
3. Opposition Whip (OW) - makes an issues-based rebuttal of the government's and summarizes
the case of the opposition.
B. Time of Speeches:
Each speaker is allocated seven minutes (6 + 1) to deliver their constructive speeches. One speaker
from each side (For the Proposition: PM/DPM, for Opposition: LO/DLO) is given five minutes
(3+1) to deliver a reply speech. The speakers will be speaking in the following order:
1. Prime Minister
2. Leader of the opposition
3. Deputy Prime Minister
4. Deputy Leader of the Opposition
5. Proposition Whip
6. Opposition whip
7. Opposition Reply
8. Proposition Reply
During the constructive speeches, Point of Information (POI) may be raised by the opposing side
after the first minute up to the sixth minute. POI may be refused or accepted by the speaker.
During reply speeches, no POI may be raised.
C. Reply Speech:
Reply speech is a comparative analysis of the strength and weaknesses of the case of both sides.
The aim of the speech is to give a bias judgment as to why should the people support the team's
claim. The speech is first delivered by the opposition side and followed by the government side
that will close the debate.
D. Adjudication:
The Parliamentary Debate will be assessed by an Adjudicator Panel composed of an odd number
according to the following criteria:
1. Matter (40) - substance of the debate, the arguments and evidence presented, and the logical
reasoning and presentation of said arguments.
2. Manner (40) - the style of delivery, the persuasion skills, and the conduct of the debaters.
3. Method (20) - the response to the dynamics of the debate, and the observance of the rules of
debate.
E. Participation:
A maximum of 3 teams of 3 participants each will be registered per college. Teams are requested
to have at least one adjudicator per team from their institution. If a college has issues getting 3
debaters for each team, they may contact the Debating Society to request for a cross team/ alternate
arrangements (Siddhant: +91 9983526699 / 9830284282).

• Voice a Verse
This is a recitation competition. The participants are judged on the following criteria: delivery,
voice modulation, continuity, impact etc. Both Hindi and English poems are accepted. Participants
need to bring a poem of their own for one of the two rounds.

• Bull’s Eye
An archer's event, where the artistic archers make their bows, groom and decorate them and shoot
the target they're provided with from a distance. Art and accuracy gets the dimes!!
Rules:
• Cam-fiesta
Try your hand at some fest clicking this OASIS. An event just for the amateurs!! You don’t have
to be a brilliant photographer to participate. All we need is, some pics of the fest.
So, just grab a digi-cam, go around the campus, get a feel of the fest and show it in your
snaps. The pics can be anything related to the events, participants, or even the campus during the
fest, which can perfectly describe or depict the given theme.

Photography club organizes the “traditional” exhibition-cum-competition, for all the shutterbugs

Apart from the rest of the exhibition, which consists of the exquisite and unique collection of
snaps, clicked and selected by the club, there are separate panels for the display of competitive
entries. Snaps can be given under the following three categories – People, Nature and The
Inanimate.
Rules:
• Filmi Muqzbla
If you thought Bollywood was all about spicy gossip, we'll surely change that notion. With
scintillating and sensational facts comes the only Bollywood Quiz of its kind!
Rules:
>> Questions asked will be only related to Bollywood.
>> Each team will consist of 2 members.
>> Teams have to qualify written elimination round first in which any no. of teams can participate.
>> Based on the written elimination round, 6 teams will be chosen who will compete for the title
of “Filmi Sartaj” in the finals.
>> The finals will consist of 8 rounds.
>> After four rounds, the bottom four teams will be eliminated.
>> Finals will consist of simple audio-visual rounds.
>> In case of any discrepancies, the decision of judges will be final and binding.
Rules:
• Hi-Fly
Use your aerodynamic skills creatively to innovate & design a crazy kite. Make it fly high and
declare yourself the winner!!!
Rules:
>> Up to three members team.
>> Raw material to be provide on the spot.
>> Creative kites wins points, points as well for kites that fly successfully.
>> Time limit of two hours.
Rules:
>> Teams of 3.
>> General questions are posed to the teams and the answers will win them points based on our
survey.
>> A reverse round is conducted for each set of teams where the least popular answer will fetch
them the maximum points.
>> After a series of elimination rounds 3 teams get to the final round.
>> The final round is based on ‘French bid’ the rules of which will be given on spot
• Mr. Feynman
Did you know how absent minded Albert Einstein was? Or that scientists were crazier than they
appeared to be! This event needs you to portray not only the inventive genius of some famous
scientists but also their eccentric and humorous side. Participants will be judged on their creativity
in bringing out such nature.
Rules:
>> Individual participation allowed.
>> First round will be a written elimination round.
>> The short listed participants will have to portray the character. Some facts about the character
will be provided.
>> The final round will be ‘Shipwreck’.
• Poem a Picture
It is a test of the instantaneous flow of poetry where participants are asked to write a poem on a
video clip or a picture.
• Splash
A body painting competition, where the participants paint their faces hands or different body parts
& create something new. Creativity and aesthetic appeal feeds the points!!
Rules:
• The Ad Effect
This is a competition that would test the knowledge of the participants in the world of
advertisements. After a written elimination round, the finals would consist of various rounds which
would primarily test the teams on ad related trivia, and also their creativity and innovation.
Rules:
>> Elimination will be done on the spot through a written round, where the participants will be
tested on their knowledge about advertisements in general.
>> Teams of 2
>> Maximum of 6 teams in the finals
>> Few rounds have negative marking as well
>> There will be 5 rounds in the finals:
* Round 1- The teams will be asked to identify the tagline of a product, given the name of the
product. They may also be asked to identify a product, given its tagline.
* Round 2- This is a buzzer round, where all the teams will be shown a video clip of some
advertisement, and they would have to identify the product. This round will have negative marking
also.
* Round 3- The teams will be given some product and asked to prepare a spoof of its
advertisement, or anti-sell the product. Marks will be given on the basis of innovativeness and
style of presentation.
* Round 4- Given the name of a celebrity, the team has to identify the product for which he/she is
the brand ambassador.
* Round 5- The teams will be provided with clues that point to some specific product(brand). They
will be awarded 20 points if they can identify the product after one clue, 15 points if they identify
after 2 clues and 10 points if they use all 3 clues.

>> Each category will differ in the input provided; likewise in “flipside-soap carving” participants
will be provided with a soap carving, they have to create a soap carving-flipside of the one
provided. Similar for other categories

>> You can participate in more than one category simultaneously.
>> Duration of two & a half hour.
• Treasure Hunt
The Informalz treasure hunt is a star attraction in BITS and is famous for highly intriguing clues
and anagrams. The treasure hunt is spread out all over the campus.
Rules:
>> Teams can be of any number of people.
>> A series of clues one after the other is given to the teams.
>> Solving each clue will lead the teams to a destination, after which they get their next clue.
>> Outstation teams will be guided by our volunteers to the destinations after they crack the clue.
>> The team which finishes first will be declared the winner.
