When we opened our Taste of Texas Restaurant in Town & Country Village on November 19, 1977 an amazing journey began, and never imagined what God would do with it. We are thrilled you are celebrating our 30th year with us. Through the years we have made thousands of friends, celebrated your family’s special moments and hosted countless travelers and guests to our city. Truly we have had a generation of customers grow up at our restaurant as our tables have accommodated school tours, birthday celebrations, ﬁrst dates, prom couples, off-to-college celebrations, graduation dinners, engagements, showers, and occasionally wedding participants. We have entertained Heads of State and Ofﬁcial Delegates from our neighboring countries and those halfway around the world. We have had the honor of visits from the crew and ofﬁcers of our United States Navy, Air Force, Marines, Army, and Coast Guard. We count as customers and friends celebrities, professional athletes, elected officials, and broadcast journalists. But we never forgot for one moment – that the heart and soul of this restaurant is you – our customer! That is why we encourage you to visit our butcher shop and select your Certiﬁed Angus Beef® steak from our display, And insist on rigorous trim and aging speciﬁcations to make your steak perfect, And offer thick sliced, hickory-smoked bacon to wrap around the lean trimmed ﬁlets, And, upon your request, season your steaks with lemon pepper, and serve your steak sizzling in lemon garlic butter, And slowly roast our famous prime rib to bring out all the ﬂavors of this well-marbled beef, And offer cold-water lobster tails, known for their rich flavor and texture, And prepare our fresh salad bar ingredients daily – using only the ﬁnest quality produce and accompaniments, And bake your potato almost to order and throw it out if it isn’t perfect, And use only the freshest mushrooms, broccoli, and asparagus to accompany your steak selections, And offer a wine list of 325 of the ﬁnest selections at a value to our customers, And offer 20 choices of Premium Wine by the glass as well as for tastings, And bake all of our Asiago cheese rolls, homemade white loaves and jalapeño cornbread fresh throughout the day, And offer our own apple butter and cinnamon honey butter to accompany our fresh breads, And make all of our apple dumplings, cheesecakes, pecan pies, and our famous “Snickers Pie” and “Slice of Heaven” from scratch in our kitchen, And grind our own coffee beans fresh for each and every pot of coffee, both regular and decaffeinated, And brew our specialty decaffeinated cinnamon coffee with our compliments, And more and more each day.
