It is certainly a pleasure to be able to write a letter of recommendation for Samantha Abarca. I have known
and worked with Samantha for two years as a Chemistry student and as my class assistant. During this time,
Samantha has demonstrated to be respectful, diligent, and intelligent.

Samantha’s commitment to excellence and dedication to her school responsibilities distinguishes her from
her peers. Samantha consistently earns excellent grades throughout her academic career. She demonstrates
her academic abilities through excelling in her college prep and rigorous classes by earning a 4.5 GPA.
Samantha maintains her excellent grades and has been part of the California Scholarship Federation for four
years. She has also earned multiple awards including Academic Excellence and Most Outstanding
Freshman. Samantha possesses admirable academic qualities that will help her take on college work and
accomplish them with tremendous success.

In addition, Samantha is well-rounded, self-driven, and motivated. Samantha is involved in band and was the
band council’s secretary. She is also part of KIWIN’S for three years in which she was a secretary and a
sunshine officer. As a student and as an assistant, Samantha excels in communicating and collaborating with
others. She is a team player with a desire to help. Furthermore, she is a positive influence in the classroom
and in the community by volunteering almost 350 hours of community service. Samantha is able to
successfully balance her academics, extracurricular activities, and helping the community. Samantha
accomplishes tasks with great initiative and with a very positive attitude.

Samantha is interested in pursuing a career in education. She plans to attain her bachelor’s degree in liberal
arts. Samantha will be the first member in her family to attend a four-year university. If given the
opportunity and with the help of scholarships, Samantha will be one step closer to achieving her dreams. Her
passion for learning and her ability to communicate well with others will make her an exceptional person in
her chosen career path.

Samantha has taken great responsibility for her own education and works hard to achieve her personal goals.
