W Because 45% of employers are using social networks to screen job candidates (1 year old statistic from CareerBuilder.com)

Facebook

•  acebook is where you live socially on F the internet but no matter how secure your privacy settings are it’s still risky •  very time you upload a photo or get E tagged with one you need to think about an employer seeing it (especially your default) • nvest in your “public” Facebook profile so I employers will be happy with what they say if they find you on Facebook. Join the company networks of your jobs.

“Kevin Colvin, an intern at the North American arm of the Anglo Irish Bank, was busted when photos on Facebook revealed what he was really up to: partying at a Halloween bash, dressed as a fairy! When his manager replied to the email message in which Colvin excused himself, his boss wrote back with an attached photo of the intern in costume.”
