DEAPPG is an all party parliamentary group based in Portcullis House, Westminster. The group was started by Eric Joyce MP in May 2010 in response to the DE Act (and conversations in social media eg Twitter #DEAct) Recent News: BT and Talk Talk challenge the DE Act NUJ challenges the DE Act Launch of Your Freedom website ( DEAct comments are under security and freedom) Amending vs implementing our Digital Economy Act (Qs in the HoC from Tom Watson, Pete Wishart, Ed Vaizey) Ofcom consultation ( about ISP guidelines) Digital Preparedness and world rankings Net neutrality discussions Meetings: DEAPPG meeting took place on Tuesday 6th July between 6pm and 7.30pm in room Q, Portcullis House. Guests included: Jim Killock (Open Rights Group), Saskia Walzel (Consumer Focus Group) Alberto Nardelli (tweetminster), Hadley Beeman (Consultant) Emma Shepherd (Lexington Communications), Howard Lamb (FACT), William Bush (Premier League), David Fares (News Corp) Emily Cleevely (The Publishers Association). Eric wrote to our guests to thank them for their useful contributions at a worthwhile meeting. “for my own part I found tonight invaluable in learning where to ‘box’ some of the arguments around the DEAct.
