1. Sales Letter
- A sales letter is a piece of direct mail which is designed to persuade the reader to purchase
a particular product or service in the absence of a salesman. It has been defined as "A form
of direct mail in which an advertiser sends a letter to a potential customer." It is distinct from
other direct mail techniques, such as the distribution of leaflets and catalogues, as the sales
letter typically sells a single product or product line, and further tends to be mainly textual as
opposed to graphics-based. It is typically used for products or services which, due to their
price, are a considered purchase at medium or high value.

2. Sales Response Letter
- Response Letter is written in order to give response to any particular situation. The
response letters can be written in order to give response to the complaint letters, resume
letters, the rumor letters and sales rejection letters. The letter must be courteous as well as
professional and must be written in a very timely manner. All the questions or queries you
have must be asked by the writer through this letter. The personal opinion must be avoided in
the letter and the letter must be written in a general way.

3. Letter of Transmittal
- A Transmittal Letter is a business letter and is formatted accordingly; it should include the
recipient's address, sender's address, distribution list, a salutation and closing. It typically
includes why it should receive the reader's consideration, and what the reader should do with
it. The transmittal letter provides the recipient with a specific context in which to place the
larger document or certificate and simultaneously gives the sender a permanent record of
having sent the material.

4. Letter of Adjustment
- Adjustment letters are meant to resolve a conflict that is why they are known as such.
Letters of adjustment are also referred as Claim Adjustment Letters, Complaint Response
Letters, Customer Complaint Reply, Letter of Complaint Response, Letter of response to
Complaint and similar other terms. A letter of adjustment deals with all sorts of claims and
complaints; defective product, poor service, goods not delivered, shipment arriving late,
salary not received and others.
