In Your Hands

Poem by Payman Akhlaghi

In Your Hands
By: Payman Akhlaghi To reach you I soar on butterflies. You touch my hand, I stand still, You ask, “Why are you silent?” Away from you Butterflies soar in me Until I’ve reached you. You pull your hand, My heart trembles, You ask, “Why are you shaking?”

For M.

In Your Hands

Poem by Payman Akhlaghi

I’m close But you’re sad. You’re far As if alone, sitting In the back rows of a circus. I mask my fear I raise my brows And you smile. I smile, because now You are so close. In your voice I turn into dust, With your words I take a new form, By your kiss I come to a new life.
