ON POLICY IMPLEMENTATION OF THE WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH) IN
SCHOOLS (WinS) PROGRAM

1. As per DepEd Memorandum No. 10, s. 2016 titled Policy and Guidelines for the Comprehensive
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools (WINS) Program, the Schools Division of Oriental Mindoro
will hold a Division Orientation and Planning on Policy Implementation of the Water, Sanitation
and Hygiene (WASH) in Schools (WinS) Program on February 20-22, 2018 at different venues
within Oriental Mindoro.

2. The objectives of the division orientation and planning are the following:
a. orient the school heads and school health personnel / designates on the policy and guidelines
of the WinS Program
b. implement an efficient monitoring system on the implementation of the WinS Program
c. motivate school heads to link and create partners in the improved water, sanitation and
hygiene practices in schools.

3. Participants to this activity are the elementary and secondary school heads and/or school clinic/canteen
teacher, the public health nurses, SGOD SocMob, SMME and Planning and Research Sections
personnel. Expected also are the district supervisors and education supervisors in-charge of a district.

4. Participants are expected to bring the completed/filled out WinS Assessment Tool (copy is attached),
a laptop and an internet connection gadget (pocket wifi).

5. No registration fee shall be collected. Participants may bring their own food or buy snacks at the school
canteen at a minimal cost. Transportation, meals and other incidental expenses of the participants can
be charged against local funds or canteen fund or to School/Division MOOE subject to the usual
accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

6. Immediate dissemination of the content of this Memorandum is desired.
