Meeting Minutes with Minister of Energy & Power Mr. Atif Khan under
the supervision of Mr. Razi Uddin Razi CEO-KPOGCL

Meeting Venue: Energy & Power Department, Civil Secretariat

Peshawar

Dated: Feb 6th 2018 Time: 12.30 pm to 02:20 pm

Participants: Mr. Atif Khan Minister E&P Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Chief Guest),
Mr. Razi Uddin Razi CEO-KPOGCL, Dr. Najeeb Ullah Director USPCASE, Miss
Rabia, Mr. M. Hashim Khan and students of MSEMS, UET Peshawar.

Agenda of the Meeting:

KPOGCL conducted a meeting at Conference Hall in Energy & Power Department,
Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Feb, 6th 2018.
The agenda of the said meeting were:
1. To introduce MS Energy Management and Sustainability (MSEMS)
University of Engineering Technology (UET), Peshawar
2. To provide an open opportunity for MSEMS students to play their role of
Enhancement in Energy Sectors and for the development of a Nation.

Meeting Discussion
Following are the main points which were discussed in meeting after the
Recitation of verses of Holy Quran.
I. Meeting was start from the introduction of the participants.
II. CEO Mr. Razi-Uddin Razi highlighted the said meeting objectives among the
participants and to the Chief Guest.

III. CEO-KPOGCL briefed to Minister Mr. Atif Khan about the jointly initiated
program which run by KPOGCL and USPCASE (US Pakistan Center of
Advanced Center in Emergency) UET, Peshawar of MSEMS.

IV. The Director of USPCASE Dr. Najeeb Ullah briefed the Minister about the
center and the Energy Management and Sustainability Program. He
explained that this program is introduced in UET with a hope to solve the
energy crisis by formulating strong policy, implementing business model
and named this program the Merger of Business and Technical. He further
highlighted of future vision about the department which will start a new

program in the coming year about the Hydro Power Engineering with an
aim to create it a Technology Centre.
V. Mr. Atif Khan Minister of E&P appreciated the program of MS Energy
Management and Sustainability and expected that he will in hope that the
students will play major role in the betterment of the Province.
VI. He expressed his views that money is not only the way of solution of many
problems but, quality institution play active role in the development of the
Nation. He also added that revenue generate from the promotion of
schools, hospitals and provide employment opportunities. Addition to this
revenue generation of KP province has only 8% which is very less while
rest of the 92% dependent on the federal Government.
VII. He further shares his views that two things can change the fortune of the
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province which is God gifted to it.
a. One is the Tourism development which is in pipeline and will initiate in the
coming 2 or 4 years.
b. Second the projects which are specifically related to the Energy Sector that
is Hydel Power, Oil and Gas.
VIII. He said that the achievement of our Province is PEDO who first time
publicizes open bidding for all private sectors in Hydro Sector in which
several multinational companies applied and 6 were awarded the tender
with an amount of total 150 billion Dollars. Addition to this the KP
provincial government has initiated the projects of 314 MW which will
complete in one and half year.
IX. Mr. Atif Khan also highlighted that although tough time was faced due to
the law and order situation in KP but, still they are able to set the budget
for PEDO of 70-75 billion dollar projects.

X. The Minister views that we believe in capacity building and aim to make the
institutions independent and strong.

XI. He said that KP Government established their own boards for PEDO and
KPOGCL and given them full autonomy on corporate style for the hope to
complete their tasks with high pace.

XII. He also appreciated the efforts of KPOGCL for the successful production of
Oil and Gas which will reach upto 53000 barrel, and then the security which
they are providing to other Multinational companies. Addition to this
KPOGCL also provides facilitation and coordination on district and provincial
level for Multinational companies.

XIII. The Chair Mr. Atif Khan asked to arrange a meeting with HEC secretary,
PMD and Chief Secretary on solving the problems related to Energy and
Power. Mr. Atif Khan Minister Energy & Power said that endorsement
funds will be provided to the USPCASE, UET Peshawar.

XIV. He also expressed his pleasuring for MSEMS students and told that oil and
gas sector is an ideal sector and it has much more potential for their bright
future.
XV. Minister E&P, Director USPCASE and students of MSEMS appreciated MR.
Razi Uddin best wishes his efforts and for the arrangements which he did.
They also paid great thanks for conducting and providing valuable
opportunity on high platform.
XVI. At the end of the meeting Mr. Razi Uddin Razi and Director USPCASE
jointly presented KPOGCL souvenir to Mr. Atif Khan Minister of E&P.

Conclusion:

The meeting was very fruitful not only for the students of MSEMS students or
KPOGCL but, for the betterment of the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well.
This kind of meeting will improve coordination among the states and other
departments. Chief Guest personally showing much interest and given hope that
he will do his best on high level for the promotion of Energy and Power.
The motto of KPOGCL is also to empower weak departments, promote and
explore Oil & Gas sectors, provide maximum job opportunities, reduce poverty,
and to bring it in the top most develop states.
