Capsulated Research Proposal

Research Topic/Title: Electronic Class Record_______

Researcher/s : Noel Villareal Paguio Jr.
A. Description of the Project:
1. Rationale/Background of the Study (2 Paragraphs)
The class record of is one of the most important records where all class
performance of students are recorded. Being so, it is significant that this record is
maintained accurate, secured and submitted on time. Needless to say, despite
faculty member’s knowledge as to the importance of this record, there exist
variables and constraints which hinders this record’s accuracy, security and
immediate availability.
As an indispensable tool in instruction, there is an impelling need to modernize this
tool, to respond to the changes and stricter demands towards quality education. It
is only timely that the institution moves to a technology-based class record that
can be linked to the Student and Accounting Information System (SIAS) to facilitate
ease in submission.

2. Objectives of the Study/Statement of the Problem:

General: Feasibility of Adopting an Electronic Class Record compatible

with SIAS
Specific:

1. Develop an electronic class record following the prescribed grading

system
2. Test the functionality of the electronic class record
3. Determine the acceptability of the electronic class record for possible
implementation taking into its compatibility with SIAS.

3. Methodology
Research Process
Prototype model was used in developing the electronic class record. The following
are the research process of the research.
1) Planning and analysis
In this phase, information are gathered to be able to determine the need of the
study. This will also guide the researcher on what procedures and actions to be
used in the study. The type of user, capability of the output, implementers and the
environment where output will be used must be obtained during this phase. It will
also determine the currently used system by the users (SIAS) and will introduce
new idea on how to apply the output of the study. Functionality of the system will
be also defined in this stage.

 Plan and analyze the current system (SIAS) and establish objectives and
solution to current need.
 Gather necessary data from the end users

2) Design and Testing

This phase involves the system design and development based on outputs of the
planning and analysis phase. Further, under this phase, the output’s performance
in terms of accuracy, acceptability and compatibility with SIAS will be determined.

 Design the electronic class record with the compatible programming tool.
 Present the electronic class record to end users for further improvement
 Integrate in the revision the comments from the prospective users.

3) Deployment
The use of this phase is to determine if the system is easy to use. It is also expected
feedback form the users will be collected and further improvement will be applied
for possible implementation.

 Deploy the output to the teachers.

 Conduct training sessions to end-users.
 Get feedback from the teachers and revise as necessary.

4) Evaluation
This phase will let the prospect users answer the survey and evaluation form in the
form of focus group discussion to determine the acceptability of the system.

 Evaluate the electronic class record.

 Finalize the study document.
 Submit the end product to the end users and the research document to the
Research Office.
