Textures:

Monophonic- single line of melody’s

Polyphonic- is two or more melodic lines (equally important)

Homophonic: songs on the radio. Two or more simultaneously performing variations of the
same melody. A melody with some accompanist, kind of like the lead singer in a band

Parallel- two lines move together but up and down

homorhythmic- Melody with chordal accompaniment
Contrary Motion- Melody and accompanitic move in opposite ways
Heterophonic- like a famous singer and me singing happy birthday and famous singer adds
notes

Similar motion- mov together but one might move higher and lower than each other
Oblique Motion one melody moves up and down, the other stays the same.
