Kung Fu Panda

In the Valley of Peace, Po the Panda finds himself chosen as the Dragon Warrior
despite the fact that he is obese and a complete novice at martial arts. In Kung Fu
Panda Po is the leading character, who thinks that he will not be able to learn
martial arts but eventually he turned his weakness (eating a lot) into his strength.

Kung Fu Panda is a story about one Panda's journey to become a master of kung
fu. He was chosen as the dragon warrior which is fought over by many and is
believed to give a warrior limitless power pressed with various spouts of
astuteness, pieces of uplifting dialogs, and bottomless fascinating life lessons that
are embedded in an anticipated storyline. The motion picture demonstrates how
a normal huge Panda, who is out of the blue been the 'Dragon Warrior' by a smart
old tortoise Oogway, guards the Valley of Peace by crushing the slippery and
disgusting yet most capable snow panther, Tai Lung who was found, raised and
prepared by Master Shifu.Po the panda (Jack Black) works in his family's noodle
shop and longs for turning into a kung-fu expert

Motivation Theories applied in Kung Fu Panda:

Internal Motivation

This theory suggest that variables within an individual will give rise to motivation
and behavior.

He was able to combine his love for food and his motivation to become a kung fu
master to succeed.
McClelland Theories

1) Need for achievement: High

Po has a very high desire to accomplish something difficult.

2) Need for affiliation: High

He also has a very high desire to feel like he is part of the group.
He wants to be accepted by the furious five.

3) Need for Power: Average

At this stage in Po's life, he is more focused on his own success rather than
trying to coach or influence others.

Extrinsic Rewards

In the movie Kung Fu Panda, the master (Shi Fu) motivates the Panda (Po) to
begin his training by rewarding him with dumplings/ food.
