Splitter chassis which can accommodate 18 splitters cartage. C) 3U shall be
reserved for installing 1x144 ports ODF or any combination for the
connectivity of backhauling cable from POP. The remaining 2U shall be
reserved for any future demand. This FDT shall be connected from the POP
with full diversity.
3. Customer buildings (CB) will be connected from Fiber Distribution Terminal without
protection and distance from FDT to customer building should be within 500m radius; the
actual length could be more. Exceptions shall be reviewed during design phase and will be
settled case by case. Each building will be connected with one cable.

Trench will be backfilled by full concrete . The strength of concrete shall be 250
kg/cm2 at 28 days. Paving and milling shall be done as per Municipality or MOT
standards.
Duct Material:
Main duct: 12 No. HDPE(3x4); (PE-100, PN-16, SDR-11) duct 50mm OD, 40.8mm ID, wall
thickness 4.6mm and 2x20mm for each building connectivity.
Poke out: Two 20mm duct shall be installed for each building lot. Duct specification;
HDPE (PE-100, PN-16, SDR-11) duct 20mm OD, mm ID 16.2, wall thickness 1.9mm and
2x20mm for each building connectivity.
One duct shall be used for common infrastructure cable and second duct shall be kept
as spare for future use.
Spacers will be installed with the duct at every 1.5m to keep the duct straight and in
position as shown in the Fig 1.
Figure-1
Width = 13cm.
Depth = 50cm.
Trench will be backfilled by full concrete . The strength of concrete shall be 250
kg/cm2 at 28 days. Paving and milling shall be done as per Municipality or MOT
standards.
Duct Material:
Maximum 24 (4x6) duct shall be placed in trench; HDPE (PE-100, PN-16, SDR-11) duct
20mm OD, mm ID 16.2, wall thickness 1.9mm and 2x20mm for each building
connectivity.
One duct shall be used for common infrastructure and second duct shall be kept as
spare for future use.
Spacers will be installed with the duct at every 1.5m to keep the duct straight and in
position as shown in the Fig 2.

Offset Trenching:
The trench size will be as follows;
Width = 9cm
Depth = 40cm
Trench will be backfilled by full concrete. The strength of concrete shall be 250
kg/cm2 at 28 days. Paving and milling shall be done as per Municipality or MOT
standards.
Duct Material:
HDPE; (PE-100, PN-16, SDR-11) duct 20mm OD, 16.2mm ID, wall thickness 1.9mm. Each
building will have two pipes with U-guard installed with building wall.

Two cover precast handhole is suggested to install in access network for all streets less than
30m width roads.
Two cover Handhole shall be used either at the end of the trench or in a straight duct for
breaking the length.
The size will be as follows;
16x 50 0r 63mm opening will be provided on two walls for main duct termination
and a rectangular opening shall be provided for poke out termination to
accommodate minimum 18x20mm duct on two walls.
The cover of the hand hole will be of heavy duty with minimum 40 ton loading.
Maximum one joint closure will be installed in one hand hole. (Please consider in
your design)

Manhole-Type A
Type-A manholes shall be installed in front of FDTs. The maximum distance from FDT
to Manhole shall be 5 meters. In case of utilities or any other reason, it can be
extend up to 7 meters with the consultation of Mobily Implementation team.
Refer fig.7
igure-7
Two independent FDTs shall be installed beside each other as shown in below layout plan. A
type-A manhole shall be installed in front of the FDT. The common cables from the customer
end; which will have dedicated tubes for each operator shall be separated in manhole and will
extend to each operator cabinet. Two options are possible as follows:
Option-1:
Using a joint closure and separating tubes inside the joint closure and extending tubes through
flex pipe from Manhole to each operator cabinet. Maximum four cables can accommodate in
one joint closure. See pictures below.
Option-2:
Using a tie cable between the manhole and FDT and splicing in a joint closure in Type-A
manhole. Two cables can be spliced in one joint closure.
Internal configuration
Fiber Schematics:
Fiber schematic shall be designed as per above guidelines of Distribution cable
and for SDU and MDU connectivity with number of fibers and shall keep 25%
spare fiber along the route.
Fiber schematic drawing shall show the splicing details and termination in ODFs
for both operators.
The fiber schematic shall show building connectivity by building number, drop
cable fiber number, distribution cable fiber number and its termination port in
ODF in the FDT.
Below is the labeling guideline for fiber schematics.
