June 2008 Serving In The Country Of Brazil Home Address:
222 Burkewood Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27104

Dear Friends and Supporters,
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” Galatians 6:9. God has truly blessed us in these last several months since our last letter. We have been in many churches, traveled to Peru, and had more doctors’ visits regarding Tonya’s pregnancy. We have many wonderful things to report! First of all, Tonya’s pregnancy is going very well. All of the test results have come back normal. Praise the Lord, the baby is healthy so far! We have also since found out that we are having a boy. We are excited to have a son to raise for the Lord’s glory and honor. The official due date is October 25th. Continue to pray for a healthy pregnancy, both for Tonya and the baby. God has also opened the doors for us to be in many churches over the last few months. Since our last letter, we have been in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Illinois, and Indiana. We spent some time with Bro. Billy Sampson (who is also with the GPA) and his family in Hammond, IN, and were able to present in a number of churches in Indiana and the Chicago area. Praise the Lord for the opportunity. We have also had some new churches take us on for support. We are now at 30% of our support! We still have a long way to go, but we are making progress and God is blessing. God also blessed me and Tonya with the opportunity to go to Peru, South America again to help two mission teams sponsored by MissionSports. To God’s honor and glory, 42 people accepted Christ as Savior through these two trips. What a blessing it is to be involved in seeing people surrender to Christ and be assured of a place in heaven. Tonya was also able to teach in a Women’s Conference, and Jon was able to preach in a number of villages along the Amazon River. We are thankful to all of you, our supporters (both prayerfully and financially), that make this ministry possible. Tonya’s parents will be heading back to Brazil around the 1st of August. Some of you may recall that Tonya and I took some of our belongings with us to Brazil back in December. Tonya’s parents have graciously agreed to take some more of our belongings back with them in August. This will help us in the overall process of getting moved to Brazil. By the time we leave, most of what we will take should already be there and our moving costs will be minimal. Pray that everything will make it down safely. By the time you receive this letter, the 4th of July will be upon us. Independence Day is a day in which we celebrate the freedom of a nation. Let us not forget to also thank God for the freedom that we have in Christ Jesus from our sins. John 8:36 says, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” Take time to thank God for your freedom. Continue to pray that God will open doors that Tonya and I might present the burden He has given us for the country of Brazil in many churches. Pray that God will supply all of our support quickly, so that we might be on the field doing His work. We have a desire to do God’s work and are determined to be busy about it even now while we are here. We do desire to go where God has called us, however, and do that same work of preaching His gospel there. God is supplying and will supply.
