FL -4 FUEL SYSTEM BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING EFDA0050 When checking for engine trouble. begin by checking the following basic systems: 1. (B) unsta- ble idling or (C) poor acceleration. Emission control system • PCV system • Vacuum leak 6. Fuel supply • Fuel line • Fuel filter • Fuel pump 4. Ignition system • Spark plug • High-tension cable • Ignition coil 5. (A) engine start failure. Others • Ignition timing • Idle speed Trouble with the MFI system is often caused by poor con- tact of the harness connectors. It is important to check all harness connectors and verify that they are securely con- nected. Power supply • Battery • Fusible link • Fuse 2. Body ground 3. . If one of the fol- lowing conditions exists. it is important to start with an inspection of the basic systems.
