REPORT NUMBER: 1

ON FEBRUARY 16TH, 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:50 P.M., I WAS DIRECTED TO RESPOND

TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED ADDRESS IN REFERENCE TO ASSISTING DETECTIVES FROM THE
BROWARD SHERIFF'S OFFICE WITH AN INTERVIEW. I HAD LEARNED THAT DETECTIVES WERE
GOING TO INTERVIEW ZACHARY AND THAT I WOULD BE COMPLETING A SEPARATE
INVESTIGATION AS WELL.
I MET ZACHARY AT HIS RESIDENCE AND LEARNED THE FOLLOWING:
ZACHARY HAD BEEN INTERVIEWED BY DETECTIVES FROM TWO SEPARATE LAW

ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES AT THE TIME OF THIS INVESTIGATION. ZACHARY'S MOTHER HAD

PASSED AWAY BACK IN NOVEMBER AND IS UNDERSTANDABLY STILL SUFFERING
EMOTIONALLY. ZACHARY IS NOW IN THE CARE OF ROCXANNE, WHO ALLOWS HIM TO RESIDE
AT HER RESIDENCE WITH HER OWN CHILDREN TO INCLUDE ROCK AND A 5 YEAR OLD.
ZACHARY IS THE BROTHER OF NIKOLAS, WHO IS THE ALLEGED SHOOTER OF THE RECENT
HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTING TWO DAYS AGO IN CORAL SPRINGS, FL. DURING MY INTERVIEW
AND/OR INVESTIGATION, ZACHARY HAD STATED WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM BROWARD
COUNTY WITH ROCXANNE THE NIGHT OF THE SHOOTING, HE HAD STATED TO HER, "I DON'T
WANT TO BE ALIVE; I DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS STUFF." ZACHARY STATED THAT
LAST NIGHT 02/15/18, HE HAD FELT AS IF "SOMEONE WAS TRYING TO GET ME" AND WAS
UPSET ABOUT THE NEWS MEDIA REGARDING WHAT HAD HAPPENED. ZACHARY EXPLAINED THAT
HE WAS SCARED AS HE THOUGHT HE HAD HEARD PEOPLE OUTSIDE. ZACHARY STATED THAT
HE DOES FEEL SOMEWHAT RESPONSIBLE AND GUILTY ABOUT THE INCIDENT AND THAT HE
COULD HAVE POSSIBLY PREVENTED THIS. ZACHARY EXPLAINED THAT HE AND HIS FRIENDS,
WHEN THEY WERE YOUNGER, HAD BULLIED NIKOLAS, WHICH HE NOW REGRETS EVER DOING.
ZACHARY WISHES THAT HE HAD BEEN "NICER" TO HIS BROTHER. I HAD ALSO LEARNED
THAT THERE MAY BE SOME RESENTMENT AS NIKOLAS MAY HAVE BEEN THE FAVORED BROTHER
AS WELL, WHICH IS CAUSING FOR ZACHARY AS WELL ALONG WITH
THE ABOVE MENTIONED SEQUENCE OF EVENTS.
ZACHARY DENIED WANTING TO REPEAT THIS INCIDENT WHEN THE QUESTION HAD BEEN
PRESENTED TO HIM. ZACHARY STATED THAT HE "DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHY HIS BROTHER
WOULD HAVE DONE THIS" AND "IT'S NOT A REALISTIC OPTION TO KILL PEOPLE."
ZACHARY HAS NO THOUGHTS OF WANTING TO HARM AND/OR KILL ANYONE; THEREFORE,
THERE ARE NO HOMICIDAL IDEATIONS BEING PRESENTED AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER, THERE
COULD POSSIBLY BE DUE TO THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED TO
INCLUDE: RELATED INDICATORS BEING OBSERVED. IT
SHOULD BE NOTED THAT HARMING AND/OR KILLING HIMSELF RIGHT NOW WAS DENIED WHEN
ASKED. I STILL FEEL THAT ZACHARY IS AT THIS
TIME AND IS IN NEED OF FURTHER EVALUATION. NO RX TO BE NOTED.
**IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THERE IS A SHOTGUN AND A RIFLE IN ROCK DESCHAMPS'
BEDROOM AND SHOULD BE SECURED IN A CLOSET**. THERE ARE NO INDICATORS OF
VIOLENCE TOWARDS LAW ENFORCEMENT AT THIS TIME AND ALL PARTIES ON SCENE WERE
COOPERATIVE WITH DEPUTIES DURING THE COURSE OF THIS INVESTIGATION. DCF
REPORTED "VENESHA #548 WAS NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT AND ADVISED THAT A REPORT
WOULD BE MADE.
