FAQ’s – Annual Health check up

Atkins aims at supporting our employee’s wellbeing at work thereby building a culture of preventive health
care among employees. Corporate Preventive Health Check-ups facilitate the preservation of wellness
and the prevention of illness, thus ensuring health and savings in the long run and establish a baseline of
your personal health against which you can detect unhealthy trends before they become risk factors.

In order to achieve the above Atkins, India has tied up with experienced service providers which offers
comprehensive health check packages and consultations with experienced specialists, using state-of-the-
art equipment and facilities.

1) Who is the service provider for the Health Check-ups?

Ans: Atkins has tied up with Apollo clinics in Bangalore and Medanta in Gurgaon for Annual
health checkups for employees.

2) Who is eligible to avail this benefit?

Ans: All full time/permanent employees of Atkins, India.

3) What are the centers that I can visit for the check up?

Bangalore Gurgaon
Apollo clinics in Basavangudi, Koramangala, Medanta Hospital , Gurgaon
HSR Layout, Indiranagar, Fraser Town,
Bellandur , Sarjapur Road, Sadashiv Nagar

Please note that the check-ups will happen only in the above mentioned locations.

4) What does the Health checkup include?

Ans: This is a comprehensive health checkup that includes standard tests and consultation. The
tests could slightly vary as per your Age, Gender, health conditions which the doctor will assess
at the clinic. Please find details of standard tests in the Annexure.

5) Is the benefit also extended to my family members?

Ans: No. This benefit is only for employees and will be paid by Atkins.

However, we have negotiated with the service provider to extend the same health check-up
packages to the employee’s family (Spouse, Dependent children, parents and parents in law) at a
discounted corporate price.
Please note - This additional cost will have to be borne by the employee and paid directly to the
clinic. The cost will be mentioned at the clinic/hospital. For any further queries, you may also

6) Will I get a report from the clinic after the check –up?

Ans: Yes, you will receive a report from the clinic post the checkup. Please note that this will not
be shared with the company unless you wish to. This checkup is only a benefit that Atkins is
providing and any further consultations/treatment should be based purely on your doctor’s advice
and your personal decision.

7) What is the frequency of the Health check-up?

Ans: This is an annual health check-up and therefore can be availed once in a financial year.

8) Will this health checkup be organized every year?

Ans: The intent is to provide this benefit to employees on an annual basis. However, this will be
reviewed every year based on business environment and priorities.

9) Is there a window period for availing this benefit?

Ans: For this Financial year’s health check-up cycle ,all staff who are on permanent employment
with Atkins, India will be eligible for the checkup once anytime between the window period
(August 2015 to December 2015). Staff who have joined on or after 1st January 2016, will be
eligible for this benefit in the next health check-up cycle. Please note that there will be only one
window period in a financial year.

10) What if I miss availing the check up during the current window period?

Ans: In case you miss availing the check-up in this cycle, you will be able to undergo the checkup
only in the next scheduled health check-up cycle. Details will be shared in the next FY.

11) Do I need to take prior appointment before going to the clinic?

Ans: Yes. You need to call up the clinic and fix an appointment with them based on your
convenience within the window period. Please note that if you choose to undergo your checkup
on a weekday and assuming that this requires you to be off work, you will have to book it on
Annual leave code.

12) What is the duration of the health check –up?

Ans: The checkup should ideally take half a day of your time. However, this is subject to the
crowd at the center on that particular day.

13) What if I book an appointment and am unable to undergo the checkup that day due to any
contingency?

Ans: In the interest of other staff members who might be looking for appointments, it is highly
recommended that you plan this appropriately. However, if you are unable to attend this due to
any contingency, you could give advance notice of your cancellation to the clinic and plan this for
another day.

14) Do I need to produce any document before going for the tests?

Ans: Please carry and produce your original Atkins ID card & any other ID proof at the clinic.
Please note that once you avail the benefit at one center, you will not be able to avail the benefit
in any other center & in any other location.

15) I would like to opt for additional tests over and above the standard tests provided as part
of the benefit. Is there an option?

Ans: Yes you can. However, the additional cost will have to be borne by the employee and to be
paid directly to the clinic in your individual capacity.

General Guidelines for Health checkups-

1. The candidate undergoing the health check-up should reach between 8.15 am – 9.30 am
or as scheduled by the clinic.
2. Minimum of 12 hours fasting is essential prior to the health check-up.
3. May drink water during fasting. Refrain from consuming alcohol at least 12 hours prior to the
health check-up. Do not take any medication, alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco or any other liquid
(except water) in the morning.
4. Wear comfortable clothing, no jewelry (Necklaces / Chains) and easily removable footwear.
5. If you are diabetic, avoid taking your insulin injections / anti diabetic tablets on the morning of
Health Check-up. Please carry your insulin / anti diabetic tablets which you can have before or
after your breakfast in the clinic. Other regular medication can be taken as instructed by the
doctor. Please carry regular medication along.
6. Please bring all your earlier (Within 1Year) medical records, if you have them and wish to
produce them.
