A DESIGN CONDITIONS

A.1 Thickness of Pile Cap (h1)


1. Ref: ACI 318-02 D.8.5
hef ≤ Footing Thickness (h1) x 2/3 or hef ≤ h1 - 100
h1 = hef + 100 550 mm
h1 = 3/2 * hef 675 mm

12.1 ASSUMPTIONS:

12.1.1 Calculation will be carried out according to Appendix D ACI 318-02 and PCA Notes.

12.1.2 Clause D 3.3 shall apply to all anchorage strengths. So all anchorage strengths in which
√(fc') is included in calculations shall be multiplied by 0.75 in order to ensure a ductile failure.
