The Chelsea boys’ cross

country team coasted to a sec-
ond-place finish last Wednesday
at the nine-team Springport
Invitational. The Bulldogs fin-
ished with 72 points, 11 behind
first-place finisher Napoleon and
11 points ahead of Milan.
“A very much improved per-
formance from a week ago,”
said Chelsea coach Eric
Swager. “In the varsity

five runners all earned
medals and competed
hard. The surprise of
the day was Austin
Horn, who took 2-plus
minutes off his best
ever. It was encouraging
to watch all the first-year
guys improve.”
