Strengths observed
- Knowledge of content V.Good
- Organised and prepared – Had quality resources prepared and good time management of the lesson
- Students respect you, this is the previous work you have done forming relationships during observations and team teaching
- Was quite engaging at times – Hard for year 9’s
- Using student’s names – Small things but goes a long way!!
- Practical element – Good engaging exercise

Areas for further development

- Set expectations early in class (Phones, books out, taking notes, people do not have books out…)
- Voice projection started quiet but improved.
- Checking for understanding – asking questions, works to keep students engaged, discipline, good practise
- Different teaching methods – Diagrams, videos, whiteboard etc
- Success Criteria – How were students successful, just needs to be explained. Eg. Trust exercise – the idea is to be caught by your
partner without stepping back or moving your feet.
- Class management – Discipline, how are going to keep them on task? Safety (Pacey seat), ‘bringing them back’ once they are off
task (lunchtime, move seat, caving?)
-GeneralTechnology
comments – Can’t live with, can’t live without!! Can be a nightmare, Plan B???
- Good start. Hard class to engage and you had some good moments with them. Your relationship with the class is a good one,
which holds you in good stead when teaching middle years’ students.
- To improve it just takes a lot of little things that are hard to always remember, but with practise becomes natural such as CFU, SC,
Classroom management, Voice, Diff teaching methods, thinking on the spot with technology breakdowns etc…

This analysis should be discussed with the pre-service teacher as soon as possible following the lesson and signed by both to indicate that this
discussion has occurred. Pre-service teacher to retain a copy. Associate Teacher to retain a copy until finalisation of the placement.
