Skrip “The Little Match Girl”

Narrator This is a story that happened long, long ago on the
other side of the world. This was a time when children
of poor families were sent out to sell flowers in summer
and matches in the winter. The story takes place in
mid-winter, a small town somewhere in Russia . It’s
Christmas Eve.The snow is falling and it’s nearly dark.
Father Hurry up! It’s time for you to go and sell matches.
Girl I’m so hungry! Can I have a crust of bread?
Father There’s no food left. Take the matches and sell them.
Then we can buy bread. Remember, Don’t come
home until you sell them all. Do you understand?
Girl Yes, father. Goodbye
Narrator The little match girl moves forward into the streets and
the father returns back down the aisle. The little match
girl meanders through the street, trying to sell her Sound of wind
matches. She is hunched, cold and miserable. In the
cold darkness, the poor little girl walks bareheaded
through the falling snow.
Girl Matches, matches, would you like to buy some
matches?
Narrator She holds the matches out to each person as they
pass. They turn their heads away from her. A well-
dressed mother and child carrying parcels walk down
the street aisle.
M’am I’m so glad we’ve finished our shopping
Girl Matches Ma’am? Would you like to buy some
matches?
M’am We don’t need matches. Get away from us.
Child she’s so dirty
M,am I know darling, hurry!
Girl Please buy some matches. There are only a penny
M’am Get away from us
Narrator The Little Match Girl trembles with cold. Fewer people
pass the girl as she holds out matches to them. She
even tries to sell matches to the ribbon seller and the
orange seller.
Girl Matches, matches would you like to buy some
matches?
Ribbon Get away from em! You’ve been bothering me and my
seller customer all day!
Narrator The girl approaches the orange seller
Girl Sir,sir…… please….. would you like to buy some
matches? They are magical you know
Orange That’s nonsense! Those are Fairy tales, get away
seller from me
Girl But sir, please buy one, only one… it’s light will give
you most wonderful New Year
OS I’m sorry, I don’t want matches today. Why don’t you
go home, it’s a cold night
Girl I can’t my father told me not to go home until I sell
them all
Narrator He walks away from her and exits behind window.
She was left alone, sitting down in the corner on the
ramp beneath the street lamp.
Nobody bought anything from her, no one had given
her a single penny!
She crept along with cold and hunger, yet, behinds
those windows pane were glowing candles and
delicious roast goose
Girl Oh , I wish I could cover myself with something
narrator She looks at the matches then put them down. She
looks at them again
Girl I’ll just light one of them to warm my little fingers
Narrator The little girl strikes a match on the brick of the wall.
How the flame blazed! How it burnt! It was just as
warm and bright like a candle. But when she stretches
her arms towards the fire, the flame went out

She rubbed another match against the wall: it burned 点火才的声音,食物


brightly. It’s flame lit up a window. Inside she could 滋滋响的声音
see a table, large Christmas pudding, roasted goose Banquet music enter
and apples. The fire soon went out all the wonderful
food vanished

She strike another match. In the next window she


could see a beautiful Christmas tree, sparkling with
decorations. Soft banquet music
Girl Oh, what a wonderful Christmas tree. The lights are
bright as star
narrator Soon the flame from the little match went out, the
Christmas tree, gifts, music fades out. The light she
had seen on the Christmas tree seemed to rise up into
the sky, higher and higher in the heaven. One fell 流星划过的声音
down and formed a long trail of fire
Girl Oh, there’s a star falling with a tail. Someone is going
to heaven
Narrator Shivering with cold she moves to the ramp and closes Sad soft background
her eyes as if her grandmother is coming to take her music
to the heaven with her life ebbing away in the freezing
cold.
