● 1989- Amanda Chiang (9 months) and Judith Jang (32) needed a bone marrow
transplant
● NO matches in their families
● The national registry only had 123 Asians listed on the registry
● Recruitment efforts led to the successful registration of over 2,000 Asians
● Still, NO matches found
● Their deaths led to the mission of AADP

● 12.5 Million people on the Registry
● 61% Caucasian
● < 10% of every other race

● 97% match rate for Caucasians

● Less than 70% match rate for
everyone else
● Mixed races have an even lower

What AADP is Looking For

● Approximately 10 hours a week
What Will YOU Be Doing
● Office administration
○ Help with day to day office tasks

○ Attend and assist at registration events
● Digital media assistance
○ Photograph or create videos of events
○ Marketing materials (flyers, posters)
○ Assist with social media posts
