Learning Objective b) group a collection of up to 100 objects into tens and ones
and write the corresponding numeral to develop an
understanding of place value.
Activity This learning activity is a hands on game-like smartboard assignment
that helps students learn how to count in increments of 5 and 10.

The teacher begins class by:

1.Telling the students about the activity she has panned and what
she expects from them: rules, guidelines, etc.
2. Showing them an example of how to use the smartboard for this
assignment
3. Step back and let the kids come up one at a time to place the
correct number in the correct place.

Students will be:

1.Listening carefully to instructions and asking questions if needed.
2. Going up to the smart board one at a time and using their finger
to move the correct number to the appropriate spot
3. The other students will then agree or disagree by showing a
thumbs up or thumbs down.
4. If it is correct, the student will then choose someone different to
come up and do the next problem. If it is incorrect, the student that
is chosen next will have to correct the problem before solving
another one.
5. Taking turns and helping each other figure out the correct answer
