Dear Council President Klein,
1am aware of One ID Columbus’ campaign promoting the development of a
municipal identification card for Columbus, Ohio. I understand that acceptance of this
identification card in Columbus will provide necessary identification for many vulnerable
groups in our community especially homeless individuals that you serve, when interacting
with local law enforcement and conducting business. Such acceptance would represent a
significant step in addressing a critical county-wide problem since lack of acceptable
identification keeps these populations isolated and susceptible to exploitation.
We believe that a Municipal ID will be most heipful to homeless persons, particularly
those who cannot access a State ID. It may enable them to find housing and employment as
well as the other benefits
Please accept this letter as an endorsement for One ID Columbus’ proposal. | hope that
through collaborations such as this we can help keep members of our community safe,
which would benefit everyone in the city of Columbus.
Sincerely yours, bef,
Gbeey ie
