 PROPOSAL ENGLISH CLASS

BACKGROUND
English is one of international languages, which is used throughout the world and also English is used in
many fields of life such as : in Politics, Economics, Social, Education, etc. Therefore, English as a
language in international communication is clearly needed by many learners to deliver thought and
interact in a variety of situation.

English is one of the foreign languages for Indonesian students, that must be learnt in school since
elementary school level until University level. English is considered as a difficult subject for the
Indonesian students, because English is completely different from Indonesian language being look at
from the system of structure, pronounciation and vocabulary.

English teaching involves of four language skills, they are Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. In
teaching and learning a language, there are four aspects that support four language skill above such as :
grammar, vocabulary, spelling and pronounciation that are also taught in English teaching and learning
process.

Although many student know how important the English are, but not many student including Board
Member SPE Unhas SC have a good skill in all of language skill above, particularly in speaking. With
these condition, it is hard for them to interact with others people who are speaking in English, feeling not
brave and confidence to join international conference, couldn't getting understand to subject or the
material of international speaker, and opportunity to continue their studying abroad will be less.

By seeing the condition above, we intend to provide a board member with English Class by inviting case
hardened English Teacher. The English class will be given twice per week and the lesson include four
language skill above. If these suggestions are implemented, it will lead to increased Board Member
confidence and performance to interact with others people, giving presentation in English, and bound to
feel more prepared for their future.

PURPOSES
The purposes of this program are :
1) Provide Board Member SPE Unhas SC with Study space of English.
2) Increasing the English skill of Board Member SPE Unhas SC

PROGRAM NAME
The Name of Program is :
English Class

EVENT DESCRIPTION
The program organized as a place to increase the English skill of Board member SPE Unhas SC. In the
class, the Board will provided with a list of possible material, and lesson on four language skill
(Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) and four aspect to complete them (grammar, spelling,
vocabulary, and pronounciation). While the class will teach by case hardened English Teacher and give
material in twice per week.

PARTICIPANT
This program is opened for Board Member SPE Unhas SC only, with aims to avoid a huge class so the
ambience is more conducive to study.

TIME AND VENUE

The program will conduct twice per week and start from 1st November 2017 in TNR Building second floor,
Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Science Unhas.

BUDGET ESTIMATION
The budget estimation of this program is fee for a teacher about IDR 150.000 per meeting. We estimate this program
will run twice per week for 3 months, so Total budget is about IDR 3.600.000 for 3 month.

CLOSING
We really hope that our proposal can describe this program clearly so we can run this program well
together. We realize that the success of this program can only be achieved if there is cooperation from
various parties. In addition, we also hope that this program not only impacted to the participant, but also
u s t o s t r e n g t h e n t h e b o n d . F i n a l l y, m a n y t h a n k t o y o u r h e l p a n d a t t e n t i o n .
