Our measure of success in placements continues
to be how well we are matching student skills
and aspirations with employer requirements and
job roles.
We are pleased to share results of our third placement session.
Nearly 96% of the batch has been placed amongst renowned
companies in India and abroad (as of Oct 2017).

The most critical part of this year’s placement has been to find the
right kind of vacancy for our students, where some employer
segments have been impacted due to market conditions.

We owe our success to the unwavering support of the leading

employers in the field of real estate, construction and
infrastructure both in India and developed markets like Middle
East, South Asia.

The quality of talent produced at this specialized institution (and

placed in the last two placement session), has created a positive
word of mouth in the industry. This is because, we believe in
preparing our students for lifelong success. We train them to act
with integrity, honesty and responsibility at work and hence
employers prefer to work with our students.
Our success is measured based on how we match student skills
and aspirations with employer needs and not just the pay package.
That is the reason why our focus is only better job roles, better
companies for our students each year. With the right start, in the
right role and organization, we believe money, success and fame
will follow.

The domains that the students will work vary from quantity
surveying to project management to strategy & consulting,
research, transactions, sales, business development, etc.

The locations where they will begin their careers include emerging
markets like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore as well as developed
markets like Dubai, UAE and Thailand.

Today RICS SBE needs no introduction amongst students. Our

results stand as a testimony to our integral performance.

Indian built environment is going through a fundamental shift
where the sector is finding new ways of doing business based
on credibility and transparency.
This big change is driven by the government in the form of Real Estate
Regulation Act, Goods and Service Tax (GST), Benami Transactions Act
amongst many other initiatives.

The above reforms coupled with the sudden demonetization did bring in an
overall slowdown in the economy. The real estate and construction sectors
specifically, that largely operate on cash were hit in the short term, as a result
of which, organisations in this sector have also been impacted.

This has also reflected in the hiring by employers which has happened at a
slower pace this year. Despite this, most of our batch is placed in renowned
firms both domestic and international.

The sector is moving towards more and more professionalism day by day and
qualified youngsters will find a better pitch to begin their innings. In the long
term, India will compete with developed economies in terms of
professionalism and transparency in this sector, while currently the sector is
going through turbulence and dynamic disruption. Organizations that are able
to adapt and embrace changes will perform better while others will struggle
and perish.

In such times, it becomes increasingly crucial for us to gate keep and let
only the credible and reliable companies hire in placements. In near
future when war for talent will gain motion, our intention is to pass on
our best talent in the right hands.

ASHLEE SHARMA “The kind of exposure I got here was

how to value a skyscraper, a warehouse and
an amusement park. The more I learnt about
real estate, the more exciting it seemed to
be. I realized working on the computer alone
is not enough to evaluate the property, so I
visited properties in Cairo, Saudi Arabia,
Northern Africa and across Middle East to
understand the different aspects that
impact the value of the property. I also learnt
how to operate Argus software used
extensively in UAE.
When it was time for placements, my first
interview was with Edelweiss and I was a bit
nervous. But because of the skills I had
imbibed, growth that I have seen in myself
and the learnings from industry leaders who
visited the campus frequently, I was able to

MBA REUI towards the technical aspects of the project.
I was not in touch with things like finance,
market research and valuation of a project.
But in real estate business, these skills are
essential and I learnt them here in my MBA.
The faculty here are from the industry so
what they teach is what we are going to do
tomorrow.
The curriculum is regularly updated as per
industry requirements and topics like RERA,
GST are discussed inside out. I am going to
join in CBRE and I am sure I will not struggle
there because of the skills I have acquired
here. Before coming to RICS SBE, I did not
know anything about real estate but now I
can analyse what is happening in the
market. The degree I have got is globally
recognised and it opens the path for me to

POORVA RATHORE "After architecture I was fiddling with

MBA CPM projects but could not get a major break.
That is when my mentor suggested to
pursue this MBA from RICS SBE. This MBA
proved to be an accelerator to my career.
It’s a prejudice to think; only guys can work
in the construction industry. There are many
jobs that girls can also do and nobody can
stop you from standing on construction
sites, I have done that! It is just a matter of
talent. I would like to share my interview
experience, the company could have easily
hired a guy in place of me but they were
impressed with my skills and selected me.
