Comparison Between UMY and UMM (Mataram)

 University is an institution of higher education and research which provide academic degree in
various fields. The University is a place where someone looking for science. However, it the vastness
of the territory of Indonesia, it maks the quality of education is not the same in every region. So that's
why universities in Indonesia have advantages and disadvantages of each. Then, here I will compare
one of University that is in the city of students (Yogyakarta) and the University in the city of tours
(Lombok), University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and University of Muhammadiyah
Mataram (UMM) which both Universitys are private University with the background of
Muhammadiyah.

University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is known as one of the best private universities in

Indonesia. In 2015 this University got 4-star predicates in terms of facilities which include a comfortable
classrooms, a well-equipped library and extensive grounds, so that it is able to support the comfort in
learning. UMM is one private University located on the island of Lombok (Mataram). UMM where still
lags behind when compared to the UMY, review of existing facilities where space less comfortable
learning and still existing lack of books in the library, these factors that interfere with the learning
process.

In terms of cost, if we compare between the two universities. UMY provides prices that are
much more expensive in fees and associated costs if compared to the UMM. It is comparable to qualities
of a good teacher and adequate facilities for learning. UMM has a lower cost, and it can help the society
who are less capable to continue their education. In terms of teachers, UMY has more professional
teachers in each of their fields, with a quality learning methods and many teachers graduated from
abroad. While at UMM, the teacher there was still little and rarely visits the presence of lecturer from
abroad.
 In terms of supporting transport access because UMY in the city of student, so the acces into
UMY is very easy there are lots of option you can walk, drive a car, motorcycle, bicycle and public
transportation like trans jogja because near UMY there is a bus stop where trans jogja every time. and
It is thus inversely proportional to the conditions at UMM, in UMM there no public transportation, u
can going into UMM just by car or motorcycle but along the way you will not be affected by the traffic
jam and the city was very beautiful scenery which can makes relax. It's very suitable for the atmosphere
of learning.

From this comparition, we can find out every University has the advantages and disadvantages
of each. As in UMY and UMM, it are bothprivate university but it has uneven facilities, among them in
terms of cost, uality of a good teacher, and suporting transport acces. Talking about education in
Indonesia is very uneven implementation. We should be more thankful to ALLAH SWT, because we
can studying in Yogyakarta city with better education than in Mataram. so we must study seriously.
