1 DIALOG WITH NPC

During the game, there will be lots of conversation happened. Player get chance to response
them by select different choice. Meanwhile, different response represents different attitude. The
attitude will influence the final score and NPC’s respect. It should be having lead different random
future event based on different response, but for now the response influence is statistic.

The response base on three attitudes: Positive, Negative, Ordinary. Three attitudes lead
three different consequence, which influence the final score. There are two different responds
towards: Patients Part and Career Part. Also, there are two situations in each two parts:

Situation Working Relax Working Relax
Response Situation Situation Situation Situation
Attitude
Positive
Ordinary
Negative

This form will help to design these 12 consequences. For now, just concentrate on Nurse part,
Working Situation.

After that, each situation happened singly. In future some of situation will combine together
appearance.

2 FOR GAME PLAY ON DIALOG (NURSE PART)


The dialog can be triggered initiatively or can random happened, but the game player is
same. There are two type of question Nurse will ask. The one is Specific Question, which have
specific answer that player can choose, this kind of answer will influence the Focus Bar. The other
one is Random Chat, which just some random talk, but more concentrate on attitude, if player
answer will cost player focus bar.

2.1 GAME PLAY


All the conversation based on Kenny’s switch bubble game play, the Focus Icon will show
only in Wording Situation for now. Focus icon will increase slowly as time goes by. There are two
type of question Nurse will ask. The one is Specific Question, which have specific answer that player
can choose, this kind of answer will influence the Focus Bar. The other one is Random Chat, which
just some random talk, but more concentrate on attitude, if player answer will cost player focus bar.

2.1.1 About Trigger initiatively — Initiative Question



Whenever player’s situations are, NPC’s head will show a bland Bubble randomly.
Player click bubble to trigger dialog.

Time limit

If player didn’t click it with in 5s (discus) then the bubble will disappear.
2.1.2 About happened Randomly (Main Focus Right Now) — Random Question
1. This will happen only if player stay with NPC.
2. The question will show up on the screen and player need to answer it
3. Time limit - If player didn’t click it with in 5s (discus) then the bubble will disappear.
4. (Not now) If player don’t give response from initiative trigger for many times, this
random question will show frequently.

2.1.3 About Reward from dialog


One of the reward is Focus (Focus right now), another is Respect (Future Design).

Respect Bar:

1. This bar not shows up on the screen but influence the final score.
2. NPC have Respect Bar for player.
3. The Respect Bar will increase after player give right answer of Specific Question.
4. During the Relax situation, the Respect Bar will increase after player give suitable
attitude answer of Random Chat.
5. The Respect Bar will decrease after player give wrong answer of Specific Question.
6. There are two percent: 50%, 75% (if have time)
7. During Working Situation, if under 50% respect, player unsuitable attitude from Random
Chat will decrease the player’s Respect Bar.
8. During Working Situation, if over 50% respect, player unsuitable attitude from Random
Chat will not influence Respect Bar.
9. If over 75% respect, player can send NPC quest to assist them to work.

Focus Bar (Main Focus Right Now):

This bar only shows up on mini-game

1. Player need to give right answer of Specific Question, then the bar will increase
2. then the bar will increase. (More details on Kenny’s GDD)

Random Chat:

Positive Response: Increase player Respect Bar, but lead more Random question, also
reduce final score.

Ordinary Response: Useless for now

Negative Response: Decrease player Respect Bar, but lead less Random Question, also
reduce final score.
Combine Focus Bar and Respect Bar if possible in the future

2.2 GAME PLAY Q&A


Q: Why is good to use this way to trigger the dialog?

A: The only way to trigger the dialog initiatively is click bubble to trigger the conversation,
this is a game icon that told player it has a conversation. So, if player accustoms to click bubble in
Relax Situation or choose positive response, the icon will become psychology signal. This signal will
influence players choice during the Working Situation, like during taking blood sample.

Another reason make it randomly because it help the conversation become a chance trigger.

Q: How to drive player to eager to click Bubble?

A: As the last question I explain that make the conversation become a chance to player. How
to drive player to click bubble is rewards. The reward can be cost and earn. That the one of the drive
element to push player click bubble. Like Focus Bar, it will increase only answer the questions but not
chat.

Q: Respectful Hart/Trust Hart (or whatever the name is)?

A: It’s a currency that player need to earn from the dialog and cost in the dialog. During
Working time, Random Chat is dangers, because it will lead mistake. Principally, If answer Random
Chat kindly or ordinarily is to shows that you think there is nothing wrong chatting during the work.
However, response unfriendly also will let work mate sad or annoy you. But if a very professional
nurse serious to young nurse because of mistake, that will not lead young nurse annoy because
Respect or Professional. But Respect can be cost. So I add Respect Currency in game.
