From The Editor

Hello and welcome to the April 2018 edition of Holden Torque. The official
publication of the 48 to 78 Holden Car Club Hunter Valley Inc. On the cover this month is a
photo of Club Members learning some history at Tocal House. A very enjoyable experience.
Thank you to those involved in organising the day and to Cathy for suggesting it. If anybody
has any other suggestions for events please feel free to contact our ever reliable, events
coordinator, Gary. I think Maitland Jail might make an interesting day or night out.
Some tips for those coming to the Bonfire Night. We have had a lot of rain and the
ground will be wet, so sensible waterproof shoes are a must. Insect repellent is probably a
good idea as well. You will be driving over dirt (mud) roads so if you don’t want to bring
your nicely polished show cars, that is understandable. Most 2WD cars will need to be left
at the front gate. They will be safe there.

Since last newsletter.....

We’ve had two major events since last meeting,
15th April, Steamfest, we had a great turn out of club cars and a perfect day for the event.
The club catered the traditional steak sangas. Thanks to Rose and Dave for the help, and we
had about 50 members and family come along.

What a fantastic day at Tocal Homestead, a huge thank you to those who came together to make the day happen
and all who attended.
