PURPOSE BOILER DRAUGHT SETTING PAGE 0

BOILER DRAUGHT SETTING:

1. Ensure all ESP field earthings have been removed and all field earthing keys have been
obtained by MPO. Ensure all fields are in Off condition & ESP insulator heaters are ON.
2. Ensure all PTWs pertaining to Air and flue gas path have been cleared.
3. Ensure normal running of ACW & DMCW system.
4. Ensure availability of all AH, LOPs, ID LOPs, FD LOPs & PA LOPs.
5. Establish trough seal & BAH overflow (to be confirmed from F&A Dept.).
6. Put ID Fan Inlet Guide vane GD6A & GD6B in manual & in minimum position.
7. Put ID Fan Scoops GD5A & GD5B in manual & in minimum position.
8. Open ESP-A/B inlet gates i.e. HNA21AA001, . HNA21AA001, HNA31AA001 &
HNA31AA001.
9. Open ESP-A/B inlet gates i.e HNA21AA002, HNA21AA002, HNA31AA002 &
HNA31AA002.
10. Ensure SA inlet & outlet gates to APH A&B are open.
11. Ensure FG inlet & outlet gates to to APH A&B are open.
12. Ensure PA inlet & outlet gates to APH A&B i.e. PAD#3A & PAD#4A are open.
13. Similarly, ensure availability of of air & flue gas path for AH#3B.
14. Check remote operation of all Secondary air dampers..
15. Start both APH A&B.
16. Put both FD blade pitch i.e. SAD#1A & SAD#1B to manual & in minimum position.
Ensure both FD Fan discharge dampers i.e. SAD#2A & SAD#2B are in closed condition.
17. Put both PA blade pitch i.e. PAD#1A & PAD#1B to manual & in minimum position.
Ensure both PA Fan discharge dampers i.e. PAD#2A & PAD#2B are in closed condition.
18. Start LOP-A or LOP-B of IDF#A. Put the other LOP in Standby mode. After ensuring
LO pressure OK, Start IDF#A (rated amps= 252 A). Open scoop slowly to >9% to attain

 minimum fan rpm. Thereafter adjust the scoop & inlet vane accordingly to attain a
furnace pressure = -5 mmwc.
19. Start LOP-A or LOP-B of FDF# A. Put the other LOP in Standby mode. After ensuring
LO & C/O pressure adequate, Start FDF#A (rated amps= 82 A) & subsequently issue
open command to its discharge damper SAD2A.. Ensure full opening of SAD2A.
20. Thereafter maintain furnace pressure between -5 to -10 mmwc while gradually opening
FD#3A blade pitch to increase the total air flow to 30%.
