The Phantom of the Opera

PHANTOM
CHRISTINE In all your fantasies, you always knew
that man and mystery
In sleep he sang to me
In dreams he came CHRISTINE
That voice which calls to me and speaks Were both in you
my name
And do I dream again for now I find BOTH
The Phantom of the Opera is there And in this labyrinth
Inside my mind where night is blind
the Phantom of the Opera is
PHANTOM there/here,
inside my/your mind
Sing once again with me
Our strange duet PHANTOM
My power over you grows stronger yet Sing, my Angel of music!
And though you turn from me to glance
behind CHRISTINE
The Phantom of the Opera is there He's there, the phantom of the opera
Inside your mind. (Vocalizing)

CHRISTINE Phantom:
Those who have seen your face Sing, my angel of music!
Draw back in fear
I am the mask you wear Christine:
(Vocalizing higher)
PHANTOM
It's me they hear... Phantom:
Sing for me!
BOTH
Your/My spirit and my/your voice in Christine:
one combined (Vocalizing higher)
The Phantom of the Opera is
there/here Phantom:
Inside my/your mind Sing my angel of music!

BACKGROUND Christine:
He's there, the phantom of the opera! (Sings higher)
Beware, the phantom of the opera!
He's there, the phantom of the opera! Phantom:
Beware the phantom of the opera! SING FOR ME!
America – A Horse With No Name

On the first part of the journey

I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name

It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la

After two days in the desert sun

My skin began to turn red
After three days in the desert fun
I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la

After nine days I let the horse run free

Cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The ocean is a desert with it's life underground
And a perfect disguise above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la
