writing process? What was your writing experience like overall?

5. When writing, how do you appeal to your audience? How do you get them interested?

6. How is writing in your discipline different than other disciplines?

7. How do you get your work published in a journal? What does it take?

8. What scholarly publications are you subscribed to in the field?

9. How did you work your way up in your profession? How did you prepare yourself?

10. What are the biggest writing flaws you see in students in your discipline?

11. What (writing) expectations do you have for new students entering the discipline and/or
taking your classes?

12. Do you think choosing a specialty in your discipline will affect the way I build knowledge
and/or write?

13. What kinds of different styles of writing do you use? Which ones do you find to be most
effective?

14. What should a person who is entering your field expect in terms of writing and research?

15. What is the difference between your collegiate writing and the everyday writing you use in
the field?

16. How much do disciplinary trends or hot topics in your discipline affect what you research?

17. What are the different types of forms or genres that are most prevalent in your discipline (i.e.
lab report, grant proposal…etc.)
