ANNEX 2: NATIONAL REGULATIONS OF FUNDING PARTIES

Commitment

Funding for Peruvian organizations is granted by CONCYTEC through Cienciactiva, its

executive branch. Peru participates in this call funding projects in five topics:
1. BIODIVERSITY: Observatories’ Network on Biodiversity and Climate Change:
Coordinating Data Acquisition and Fostering Data Access and Transfer
2. BIOECONOMY / BIOREFINERIES: Intermediate and/or High-Added Value
Bioproducts
3. HEALTH: Infectious Diseases: Early Detection Research including both, Screening
and Diagnosis
4. ICT: ICT for urban sustainability: Nature-Based Solutions, Citizen Science and
Systemic Urban Planning
5. ENERGY: Ocean energy: Development of Technologies for the Energy Valorization
of Marine Resources within existing Large Research Infrastructures
Who can apply?
Universities, research institutes, technology transfer or technology extension centers,
NGOs, Peruvian businesses or business associations.
What types of costs are eligible for funding?
 Direct Costs
o Monetary incentives for postdoctoral researchers and/or specialized
technical advisors to implement technological innovation projects.
o Monetary incentives for the Principal Investigator and other researchers.
o Monetary incentives for graduate and undergraduate students.
o Purchasing, leasing or licensing for equipment, instruments and software
for research.
o Materials, supplies and consumables for research and prototyping,

including reference literature.

o Technical and support services directly related to project execution,
including analysis, equipment maintenance and repair, surveys and specific
market studies.
o Domestic and international travel expenses related to project development
and presentations of results in specialized meetings and fairs.
 Indirect Costs
o Administrative expenses of the institution up to 10% of the budget from
the Peruvian endowment. This includes administrative and staff support,
outsourcing administrative services and support, among others.
Upper funding limits for eligible costs?
The upper Peruvian funding limit for each consortium is 100,000.00 Euro, distributed
through a period no longer than 36 months.
 Direct Costs
o A maximum of 70% of the fund granted can be used for project staff or
assignments.
o A maximum of 20% of the fund granted can be used to purchase
equipment.
 Indirect Cost
o A maximum of 10% of the fund granted by Cienciactiva can be used for
administrative expenses.
Additional national eligibility criteria for the proposal beyond the general criteria
in the Terms of Reference of the Joint Transnational Call:
1. The Principal Investigator and other researchers must be enrolled in the National
Directory of Researchers and Innovators
(https://dina.concytec.gob.pe/appDirectorioCTI/)
2. All Peruvian teams must register their participation in this call at Cienciactiva
(http://www.cienciactiva.gob.pe/convocatorias/investigacion-cientifica/eranet-lac-
proyectos-de-investigacion-2017-01).
3. Peruvian applicants must not be registered in the ‘Registro de No Elegibles’ –
RENOES.
4. Applying organizations must secure a cofounding contribution for the project
according in cash or kind. Research organizations contribute with no less than
20% of the funds requested from Cienciactiva, while businesses and business
associations must contribute with no less than 30%.
5. Organizations applying for Peruvian funding must be domiciled in Peru. They may
be universities, research institutes, technology transfer or technology extension
centers, NGOs, Peruvian businesses or business associations.
