QUESTION :
Article 2
Food for Healthy
The food that we have eaten seems to have profound effects on our healthy.
Although science has made enormous steps in making food more fit and delicious to eat, it
has, at the same time, made many foods are not healthy to be eaten. Some research has
shown that perhaps seventy percent of all human illnesses are related to diet and forty two
percent of cancer related to the diet also, especially cancer of the liver. Many people from
different culture are more prone to contract certain illnesses because of the characteristic
foods they have consumed.
That food is related to illness is not a new invention. In 1945, government had done
researches realized that nitrates and nitrites (commonly used to persevere color in meat) as
well as other food additives caused a new problem, it was cancer. These carcinogenic
additives have remained in our food that we eat, and it becomes more difficult to know
which ingredients on the packaging labels of processed food are helpful or harmful.
The additives that we eat are not all so direct. Farmers often give penicillin to poultry
or cattle, and because of this, penicillin has been found in the milk of treated buffaloes and
cows. Sometimes similar drugs are used to animals not for medical purpose, but of course
for the reasons of financial. These farmers are always trying to fatten the animals in order to
obtain a higher price in sale on the market. These procedures, the practice is still continued
although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has controlled repeatedly it.
A healthy diet is directly related to good health. We are often unaware of the
detrimental substances that we have ingested. Sometimes the other farmers or others who
do not realize the consequences add these substances to food without thingking more.
