According to Elizabeth Flanagan that people with disabilities face tradition domestic vio-

lence but also face a different type of domestic violence which include not being cared

for properly getting cut away from family or even community members. Despite that kids

or adults with disabilities cannot do much already by themselves, being hurt is just mak-

ing their lives worse. People that have disabilities can agree to that they have a rough life.

Always being in a wheelchair, not able to speak, or even see. These people need help to

guide their way every day. Them being a part of domestic violence just hurts because

they appreciate that they are still alive while others don’t.

According to Weissmarh domestic violence has been an issue in many ways. While peo-

ple try to help decrease domestic violence it fails. Especially those in certain social

groups. The reason why is because they fear to get help for this crime. Instead of it help-

ing them out it actually cause more harm to them. So not being able to turn to someone

for help is a horrible feeling. Making people feel like their unimportant. By the communi-
ty also trying to help this issues shows others that there are people out there that want to

help with domestic violence. People should not just care for our safety but those around

us.

Goodmark emphasizes that domestic violence has been a big issue for a long period of

time. In 1984 there was a point to figure different alternatives to deal with this crime. As

the government thought about it people started getting hurt or even dying from domestic

violence. Since, then they decided that there is no other way to deal with domestic vio-

lence than to have people accused and arrested for it. Domestic violence is such a huge

crime because there have been cases of kids being part of it. There is no way for people to

decrease domestic violence only if they can address it right away other than waiting for

something life threatening happen.

According to DeCarlo domestic violence should never be dropped from a case. It should

always be brought up and accuse the suspect of a horrible crime. There are so many peo-

ple in this world that get assaulted by their partner and it’s not anything little like a

scratch. Some of the harm is life threating and these people live in fear for the rest of
their life. Not able to trust anyone with themselves. Domestic violence happens all over

the world not just in the united states. There are also many forms of domestic violence

not just physical abuse but mental abuse as well.

This article states that we are not safe in the hands of the government. Everyone can ask

for help but what they do is not the help you need. The government plays a huge role in

society and when they don’t address domestic violence to prevent it nothing will be done.

It doesn’t matter how much support you have if you don’t feel safe taking it to the federal

court and they don’t really do much you will not feel safe at all. This also just doesn’t

happen in the United States but in other countries as well. People do not feel safe behind

their government.

The article states that as parents you should want the best for your child, but as some par-

ents they abuse their kids. Even children that live in a household of domestic violence can

cause damage to them without you even knowing. Kids are like sponges they see and

hear things and it will stick to them. So when they go to school they can do the exact
same thing they saw and think it was right. In reality it is never right for kids to be harm-

ful to other kids. That will just give them a bad reputation of domestic violence. Some

kids can’t help it because they were never taught what was the right and wrong thing to

do. Even in some household kids are on their own.

Davis, R. L. (2008). Domestic violence: intervention, prevention, policies, and solutions. Boca

Raton, London: CRC Press, c2008.

According to Davis, domestic violence is a huge crime. Since he has been a police officer

he probably had cases of domestic violence. Looking back on it domestic violence has

had so many cases of partners abusing their partner or even their children. It has never

been safe and its not just at home but other places as well. Also the crime hasn’t just hap-

pened to women but to men as well. There has been cases where men are the victims of

being abused.

According to Darlene Gardener, many women are the victims of domestic violence. Most

women do not report that they have been abused because they are afraid it will just get

worse. Also many women stay in their abusive relationships because they have fear of

leaving: if they do leave they fear that they will get hurt. They also don not report it to

anyone because they feel like they will not get any help to prevent this violence. It should

not be this way because there are people out there that want to help these victims. They

just need to find the right help
