Reading Buzz Rolls and Double Stroke Markings

The 1st bar of each line is what I write. The 2nd bar of each line shows the s cking.
Buzzrolls can be played with strict doubles or you can use the bounced technique.

1st bar = what is written. 2nd bar is how it's played


Usually bounced. You may bounce more than twice with each hand with the bounce technique.

                  

These are usually bounced. You may bounce more than twice with each hand.

         

2 Beat Buzz roll RR LL RR LL RR LL RR LL

These are usually bounced. You may bounce more than twice with each hand.

     

Buzz roll RR LL RR LL

This could be played with the double stroke technique, or multiple bounce technique.

       

This could be played with double strokes or multiple bounce technique. It's up to the player.

If sheet music is written out like this,
you can assume multiple bounce buzz rolls are ok.

    

If sheet music is written like this,
you should play precice double strokes as written.

If the music is written out like this, it may be just to make the doubles clearer to read,
so the double stroke technique is prefereable but bounced technique is also acceptable.

      
